Great place, highly recommend!

Fantastic location, gorgeous private beach, clean water and unbeliavable view. The owner and family are extremely kind and pay attention to the details. They have their high quality restaurant too: we had a delicious dinner with a view to the see from the hights. It is perfect for those, who don't like big hotels and need a beutiful and peaceful place to relax. Morning cofees on the cliffs was one of our favourites... Also it has a very convenient location with sandy and rocky beaches around, with food store and beach bars in the vicinity.

We loved it - would definitely come back!

Swimming and sunbathing from the rocky terrasses is 12/10 - one of the most beautiful places we have ever been swimming. Bathrooms and beds are nice. Outside eating area really nice (no ocean view)

The kitchen needs cooking tools, new pans and more. No hot water in kitchen. Wifi is signal is too weak to use.

Beautiful beach house with extraordinary service

This place is extraordinary! The hospitality, the view, the private beach and the small town itself. I have been travelling Croatia for 35 years, and this is one of the places where I will definitely return to. I could stay here for weeks and just relax and eat at the family restaurant. Loved it!

The owners are wonderful people. They also run the best restaurant on the island. We enjoyed the whole experience, space and the tought they put in everything. The appartments are spacious, comfy and you have everything you need. Not to mention the private access to the sea. Parking space is also available.

beautiful place, right next to the beach on a quiet and pretty island.

the building is at the south tip of the very quiet and beautiful island of Mljet, in a gorgeous setting. It is a bit of a stroll to the sandy beaches, and the rocky beach is right in front of the appartment. Beautiful seaviews. The appartment was well equipped for our purposes, with a nice terrasse, we could have our dog with us (and he sort of got on ok with the several cats on the property) and the owners are friendly and welcoming. At times a bit overwhelming. The restaurant likewise in a beautiful setting, we ate seafood for dinner (a whole fish) which was tasty, but, in our opinion, overpriced. The best breakfast we had in Croatia (even though we felt for the additional Capuccino for 5 Euros was bold…). We visited the northern tip of the island which is a national park area, and felt it is not worth going there (the two lakes are really not so special). You find much more secluded and prettier beaches in other parts of the island. If you like sandy beaches, the south near Stermasi is definitely best.

Stermasi host really cares for their guests

Excellent location with access to private beach (rocks with direct ladder to the sea, great for jumping into the water). Superb sandy beach is not far away (8min walk) and there are small restaurants and bars nearby as well. Food quality in local Stermasi restaurant is amazing, we had very delicious sword fish and squids.

WiFi had occasional dropouts and the bathroom was a bit small.

Culinary delights amidst natural beauty

The apartments are situated on a very beautiful hillside location with views of the Adriatic sea. While it is at the far end of the island, we enjoyed the peace and quiet and didn't feel it was too far at all for exploring the national park and the villages at the opposite end of the island - less than 1h drive along the stunningly scenic road all the way to the other end. Much of the most beautiful hills and coastline in our opinion are actually on the Eastern part of Mljet, where this accommodation is located. The shore is rocky but there is a private pier on which you can sunbathe while admiring the view or take a dip in the sea - this was actually a very nice spot for swimming and snorkeling but maybe not optimal for e.g. small children since it's deep. Just a 5-10 min walk away there are very nice shallower sandy beaches with a beach bar and a couple of restaurants. These were not at all crowded in September. The emerald green water is surreally clear. The apartment itself was clean, spacious, peaceful and in good condition, nothing to complain about. All of the staff were very friendly (and command an impressive set of languages!) and we got maps and tips for exploring the island. They also provide a transfer service between the ferry port in Sobra and the accommodation (for a reasonable extra charge). To save the best for the last: the restaurant on premises is extremely good with a selection of impressive Croatian wines and traditional meals from fresh, local ingredients. Make sure to book ahead (even if staying in the apartments) and to sample some of the special 'peka' dishes which need to be pre-ordered. We ate there every evening during our stay and were not disappointed.

The rental car hired from the accommodation was quite worn out at 300 000+ km (e.g. some door locks not working, the engine spitting out a trail of blue smoke when crawling up the island's steep hills, an assortment of warning lights, a little trouble starting up once), but the price was still pretty much what you'd normally pay for a rental car, so not great value for money. The car did however get us from A to B and back without any issues and safety related stuff such as tyres and safety belts seemed okay. Plus looking at other rental cars on the road, it didn't seem too different for the main rental car agency of the island. We weren't bothered too much, just don't expect the mainland rental car experience.

Die Gastgeber waren unglaublich freundlich, gastfreundlich und geduldig – sie konnten jede unserer Fragen beantworten und haben uns sehr willkommen geheißen. Das Apartment liegt in einer traumhaften Umgebung, mit einem atemberaubenden Blick vom Restaurant aus. Das Essen war köstlich und frisch zubereitet – ein echtes Highlight unseres Aufenthalts. Wir planen auf jeden Fall, für einen längeren Zeitraum zurückzukehren, denn die Insel hat noch so viel zu bieten und ist einfach wunderschön. Sehr empfehlenswert für alle, die Ruhe, Natur und herzliche Gastfreundschaft suchen!
