Apartments Sveti Anton

Prior to our trip, we debated on whether it would be better to stay in Orebic or Korcula. In the end, I'm glad we stayed at this apartment in Orebic, as the location was great. The beach can be reached easily by either a 15 minute walk (downhill - remember, it will be uphill coming back!), or by car, as there are some metered parking spots near the beach. Also within walking distance are a grocery store and Korta Katerina winery, which was fabulous and definitely worth stopping in (make reservations). The ferry to Korcula was easily accessible, although you'll probably want to drive and park, as it would be a pretty long walk. The boardwalk in Orebic is beautiful and lively, with shops, restaurants, cafes, and konobas on one side and the sea on the other. A lovely walk at sunset! As for the apartment itself, everything was fine. The weather was extremely hot when we visited, so we really tested the limits of the single air conditioner. It is located at the end of the hall, so we had to leave doors open at night to let the cool air in, as there are no AC units in the bedrooms. It took a while for the apartment to cool down, but once it did, it was fine. The owner greeted us and let us in. Despite a bit of a language barrier (she speaks German), she was extremely friendly and gracious and we managed to have a lovely (and at times humorous) conversation using Google Translate and gesticulations. Parking was easy - right across the road, under a pergola of grape vines. The rooms were large enough and all but one of them had its own bathroom. The kitchen area was spacious and comfortable. Balcony with a large table to sit outside when the weather is cool and enjoy the view of the sea.

As mentioned, we really pushed the limits of the single air conditioning unit. If you're visiting when the weather is a bit more moderate, I'm sure it will be adequate. Coffee maker does not work.
