Arterra Hotel and Resort

I really liked Arterra. Beautiful view, good pool, clean rooms with plenty of counter space in the bathroom. Comfortable beds. Good staff. Unlike one of the other reviews stated, we had zero issues getting Grab cars to come to the property. I thought it was very good value for what I paid and was surprised that the hotel felt nearly empty.

We were told the property only had 9 rooms booked, so due to lack of guests they didn't have their buffet breakfast set up (had to order ala carte). Understandable, but disappointing. Restaurant prices were fairly expensive. Sink in our room didn't have a temperature setting, it was always luke warm. It was very hard to keep the shower water temperature at a comfortable level, it was always either too cold or scalding hot. No hand towels to try your hands with in the bathroom, only large towels for the shower and large pool towels. Pool closed at 8pm which is a very early pool close time compared to other hotels I stayed at here. If you're planning any of the full day excursions where you're picked up from your hotel, the location of the hotel is going to mean you wake up even earlier than what your time says; I had to be picked up at 5:15 instead of 6am because of the distance of the hotel. The hotel has partner access to another hotel's beach (and pools), but what they don't tell you is you'll need to get a Grab there for about 250 pesos one way and the beach isn't nearly good enough to justify that. The sand is really rocky, if you do go you'll want footwear you can bring in the water with you. In hindsight I'd have stuck to the hotel pool.
