Everything in our view was perfect for a great few days

The staff at the Mariner made our family 3 day holiday complete.The accommodation was spotless and comfortable.There was an excellent choice of menu with specials changing nightly. There was consideration shown to one of my daughter’s allergies to accommodate her with specials changing nightly meals.There was consideration bar had a fine selection of ales and wines.All in all I would not hesitate to recommend The Mariner to anyone wanting a holiday in this beautiful part of Scotland

This charming, family-run hotel is set in a beautiful and peaceful location, perfect for a relaxing getaway. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm and friendly welcome that immediately made us feel at home. Our room was spacious, beautifully appointed, and exceptionally comfortable — we felt thoroughly spoiled throughout our stay. The food was excellent, with a wide variety of delicious options to choose from. Every meal was thoughtfully prepared and full of flavour, adding to the overall enjoyment of our visit. The combination of stunning surroundings, outstanding hospitality, and top-quality accommodation made this a perfect weekend retreat. Nice hotel set in a great position in a lovely village looks

Nice hotel with a great view from the front facing bedroom. We liked to sit at the window with a cup of tea/coffee & watch the fishing boats. Good bathroom with a lovely walk in shower & a separate bath. Staff were very friendly & helpful.

Great 4 night stay. Will definitely be staying again.

We were made very welcome. Angela especially was very helpful , kind and friendly. We ate there each evening of our 4 night stay and the food was excellent, especially the Steak & Ale which my partner had on 2 occasions. Breakfast was first class and great that is was not self service. Thank you.

No place to put our toiletries in the en-suite !

The property is well located and the staff made us feel welcome. The rooms are clean and fresh, no damp or doggy smells. It’s an old property in an old village. We had excellent views of the sea and boats from our window, and the breakfast was excellent.

Had a lovely 2 night stay at The Mariner, location is beautiful, food is good, staff great.

Location was perfect with beautiful views over the estuary and beyond. Staff at the hotel were great, very friendly and ensuring you had everything you needed. Breakfast was a good start to the day and the Galloway steak and ale pie is to be highly recommended. There is a lovely beer garden which we enjoyed on the Saturday when the weather was nice and sunny and the views were spectacular.

Lovely waterside hotel

What a wonderful stay at The Mariner. The staff are so friendly and happy. Angela in particular works so hard to make your stay the best. The room we had gave us the lovely views of the river and the hills beyond. Breakfast is amazing, served on hot plates. We also had dinner twice and that was just as good. We will be back, soon I hope.Nothing

Really enjoyed my stay. Fantastic hosts. It isn’t the fanciest place but it is unbelievable value for money. Good breakfast. It is clean and doesn’t have daft things like cushions and runners on beds. It gets important things right…bed linen is pretty good and the shower is powerful. The property is dated and shabby. If can look beyond that, it has its own charm, I suppose. Trying to contact the property is virtually impossible. Tried numerous times to ring in the days before the visit and even an emailed - no response. The Anchor up the road, however, answered immediately so they got our Sunday lunch order for 8. The Anchor was super busy, the food excellent and service professional.

The Mariner is a Perfect location to stay at Kippford.

Breakfast was excellent plates were hot and the food was too. Cereal, toast fresh orange juice. Pot of tea or coffee. Plenty of choices of spreads for your toast, Followed a cooked breakfast which was 2 rashers of bacon and a sausage and tomatoes and beans and a hash brown.There was a bowl of fruit and yoghurts on offer. I certainly didn’t need any lunch after such a feed. Service was excellent and David and Ang were lovely people that made you feel welcome.

Maybe a choice of black pudding or tattie scone or a hash brown could please peoplle. But for me it was grand.
