The Famous Yellow House

The view and the ambiance of nature is the highlight! We stayed at this house for five nights and we absolutely loved it. Anita’s fish restaurant draws in a ton of people who do wander over to take photos of the house but during our time there, only 2 guests were rude and came past the private property sign onto the side deck. The house is very comfortable. You have the basics provided in the kitchen but nothing more than salt and pepper and a tiny thing of sugar. We shopped at the grocery store in Leknes that had a great selection. You do get dishwasher tablets, soap for cleaning dishes, detergent for clothes, a roll of paper towels and toilet paper so don’t waste your money shopping for these things. Yes it’s expensive to stay here but we loved every second of it! Tip: Go to the sauna that overlooks this mountain and view, it was incredible!

The house is way too dark in the main living area and kitchen. They honestly need to figure out the lighting situation. They make enough money from renting that they could actually install lights on the ceiling to brighten up the room. No one wants to sit at the kitchen table to read in the evenings!

Det finns inga mörkläggningsgardiner i sovrummet men det löste sig enkelt med ögonbindel som vi köpte hos Anitas bredvid.

La struttura è unica e offre una vista davvero spettacolare. La posizione è molto comoda: si trova vicino ad un ristorante e ad un piccolo souvenir shop e rappresenta una base ideale per visitare la parte sud delle Lofoten. L’alloggio è ben attrezzato ed il parcheggio privato è un plus importante per chi viaggia in auto.

La mancanza di tende sufficientemente oscuranti si nota: d’estate entra molta luce e può risultare difficile dormire. La camera al piano inferiore è piuttosto piccola.

I called 8 times to ask where to check in and no one helped me. The staff at the restaurant was terrible, I asked where to check in because I had a dog and the first sentence only said no dogs allowed.
