Really nice experience. I had to come to Kuta and spend one night to get my visa extended there. For someone who likes a bit more off the beaten track style travel, I wasn’t really looking forward to it. With my budget I was expecting to stay in some dodgy coffin style hostel, but instead I ended up at easy surf camp and I’m so happy I did. Hidden away from the hectic Kuta boardwalk, easy surf camp offered much needed tranquility. It’s mostly private huts with one (or two?) dormitory(s). The dormitory sleeps 4 which is so calm and nice. While I was there it was just me and one lovely surfer girl. The two of us went out for dinner at the beach, a two minute walk from the hostel, immediately upon meeting which was lovely. The dormitory provides a little fridge so you can store some food and drinks in your room. They have lockers in the room for you to put your valuables. The pool looks lovely! More like a resort than a hostel pool. Because I only stayed one night I didn’t interact much with the staff but the ladies working at the restaurant were super sweet. The operators were also very helpful. Before I came I called ahead to ask whether the mixed dormitory currently had women men or both in it because as a young girl I don’t feel comfortable if I am to be the only woman in the room. They assured me there was one girl, and then I went ahead and booked. Overall great experience and great value for the price!

On booking I had the option of adding breakfast for an extra 30k, meanwhile if you book without included breakfast and decide you want to have breakfast there one day, it’s 100k for any breakfast item whether it’s just eggs and toast or pancakes or whatever. I understand why it’s done, it’s a smart way of making some extra money, but I think it’s very disproportionate to the value. For reference I was paying 145k per night to stay there and their lunch items are about 50k. Not a problem though there’s enough places close by to go for breakfast or be smart and add it before booking :))

Only stayed for one night with early morning check out, so can’t really say too much about the facility.

Had some oil stains on the sheets on both beds so my partner was a bit uncomfortable about sleeping on it.
