TC Bahía Meloneras

The pool we had the property was a lovely addition to cool off when we didn't fancy going to the main pool. There was always free sun loungers when we did tho as the main pool is huge! Nice big open plan living room and kitchen, with air con. The 2 bedrooms upstairs had air con too. We had a few issues, but communication was very good and were on hand via WhatsApp. The complex is nice, spacious and gated. The only thing I wasn't aware of, although it says nearest restaurant e.g 6 min walk, it was a downhill/uphill walk back which my 82 year old mum couldn’t do, However, there were taxi's on hand. The supermarket was close by and very good quality, as we did eat breakfast and lunch at the villa.

The property itself requires some TLC. My bedroom door handle was broken, and I couldn't close the door for fear of the handle coming off in my hand and being locked in. A maintenance man did come out and attempted to fix it but it still wasn’t right. Some light bulbs had blown from the bedroom lights. The bathroom door to the shower kept coming off the rails. There was no air con in the downstairs rooms and the fans provided were inadequate. Some cockroaches about too, but no mozzies :)

The house was fantastic, great location in a quiet area, with easy walk to the beach. The company who look after the property were really quick to respond and very helpful.

Excellent location, very accessible hosts and great facilities

Big, but quiet, complex surrounding a large pool. Plenty of space in the property and particularly liked having 3 floors - 2 bedrooms upstairs, 2 bedrooms downstairs and kitchen/living area in between. It was well equipped and mainly clean and tidy.Owners very responsive if we had any queries.

Not many negatives, apart from dishwasher and washing machine needed a good clean. We had to clean dishwasher (filter and round door edges) ourselves in order to use it. We left the washing machine (black gunge around the drum rubber) because we didn’t need it. When we told the owners they did say they would come straight away to sort any problems . The biggest problem was the shared pool (not the owners fault). It was a big beautiful pool with plenty of room and lots of sun beds but the water was freezing. Considering that The Canaries is very much a winter destination for many Brits it would have been great if the pool was heated (especially for children).I know that’s a big expense but shared between all the bungalows it would be well worth it. My 18 year old grandson actually suffered from ‘after drop’ (suffering mild hypothermia and fainting 30 minutes after being in the pool).
