Chateau d'Escures amazing

Highly recommended

Very nice apartment attached to a chateau set in extensive grounds which can be explored. Madite is a lovely lady and very helpful. It is ideally situated for visiting World War 2 sights. Can't think of one negative.

The apartment is comfortable & well equipped. It’s very peaceful with lovely gardens. The location is excellent for visiting the Normandy coast and area around Bayeux. Michel & Madite were helpful & friendly.

An excellent and beautiful accommodation located conveniently in the Normandy countryside.

Madite and Michel's place is excellent. Located in the quiet and peaceful countryside, it's location is still very close to Port-en-Bessen (2 mins) and Bayeux (5 mins) as well as the Normandy beaches. There are supermarkets in both towns and Port-en Bessen has a gas station with an attendant for those who need to pay with cash. The property itself dates from 1750 and has wonderful charm and spaciousness. The bedrooms are large with comfortable beds, and the living room and kitchen are attached and convenient to use. Guests stay in a part of the building that is attached to the main house but has it's own separate entry with key. The grounds are fun to explore and our kids loved running around, playing catch, and hide and seek. We would definitely recommend to all and would love to stay there again.

Perfect Accomondation

The accommodation was perfect for us as a family with 2 children (2 and 5 years). The apartment is very nicely furnished, clean and big enough. The hosts are always approachable and always friendly. The chateau was beautiful with a great garden and horses. The location between Port-en-Bessin and Bayeux was the perfect starting point for many excursions, e.g. to Mont-Saint-Michel, to Honfleur or to the Chateau de Ouézy (our children loved it). We hope we can come back in 2023.

close to port-en-Bessin and Bayeaux right in the middel of Normandy. Everything and more than we could have expected.

Madite and Michel was a most fantastic host couple. We loved to experience their fantastic place and enjoyed the park around the chateau, seeing the horses and the lovely surroundings.

French charm

Beautiful french estate surronded by fields and forest. Charm of an old château, even though the appartment is in the left wing and not the main building. Appartment itself is clean and furnised with IKEA style furniture, combined with some rustic deco elements. There's a good heating and you can get a good sleep there - very silent. Location is good if you have a car, nearest town (boulangerie) is about 10 min drive and Allied invasion memorial sites are within reasonable drive as well.

Kitchen is ok for a short stay, but with a family of 5, I would not like to cook there for long periods. As it was a "Covid-19" season, restaurants had limited opening hours.

The location and apartment was really great, fully equipped. It is very tastefully decorated. An unique garden and a very friendly and warm host. It is a good base for exploring Normandy both by bike and car. We had too little time to explore everything.

Beautiful property!! We were greeted with a warm welcome from the owners! The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. We were travelling with our two children and parents and had plenty of room. I would highly recommend this property to anyone traveling to this area.
