There was nothing that I didn’t like.

Michel was an incredible host. I wish I was staying long to hear his stories and watch the world cup. Meeting people like Michel reminds me what life is about and that kind of reset is needed sometimes so thank you for your gift of time, hospitality and conversation. If we are ever in the area again we shall return. Danielle and Alex.

Staying here was a wonderful experience. Beautiful grounds, fantastic and generous host and an amazing room. Oh and breakfast was lovely.

The host was a delight, our room was large and did offer coffee making and fridge facilities but no tv and our ‘suite’ had access to our ‘en-suite’ across a public hall so had to dress each time I had to use it which was a pain. It was exceptionally clean but offered no cooling facilities or window coverings in either the bedroom or bathroom which was a little disconcerting and no fans or air con, so was very, very uncomfortably hot for sleeping. I requested on booking, a ground floor room or suite because I have mobility issues yet had to navigate several steps to the main accommodation floor and a very full flight of stairs to get to the breakfast dining room. Breakfast was adequate if unexciting but the coffee was exceptional. All in all a beautiful setting for this hotel of faded elegance with quirky rooms.

An adjoined en-suite and blinds for bathroom windows would have been preferred and a little more offered for breakfast and not just sliced cheese or conserves
