A little scruffy in parts

17th Century inn in a beautiful, quiet village opposite a green with tables and a church on the corner. Lovely for walkers. Great choice of drinks and food to eat for lunch and evening. Loads of character. Rooms comfortable and clean with mini fridge and good shower/bath.

Nothing really. Perhaps a fan in the room for hot weather, but we weren’t there in a heatwave. Plenty of plugs if you want to bring your own though.

Rustic old pub, lovely log fires, a decent evening meal and happy to see that the kitchen did not close until 8.30pm (just after our arrival) even though we were the only ones in the bar at that time.

When we arrived, the guest room was cold, although the excuse given was that the thermostat was in the bar which was quite warm. Antiquated shower plumbing over the bath which even though I accidently pressed it to get water out of the taps, I couldn't get it back into shower mode until the morning, meaning my son had to crouch under the bath taps to have his evening shower. Breakfast was just so-so with strange choice of options (cereals OR cooked breakfast for example) and the fried eggs looking as if they had been scraped off the no-longer non-stick frying pan...
