InterContinental Singapore Robertson Quay by IHG

We checked in well past midnight, and while we were asleep, jetlagged and tired, we were horrified and disgusted to find a large cockroach crawling over us in the bed!! The response of the guest helpline and housekeeping was disappointing, lacking in urgency or empathy. Joseph in the front office was much more helpful, but we were determined to escalate it to Intercontinental international management and complain to the Singapore Tourism Board when Front Office Manager Vin Raveendran stepped in and turned around our experience. He apologised profusely and personally, ensured an immediate cleanup, allotted us a bigger and better room overnight and arranged multiple daily health checks to ensure that the rest of our stay was superb. He represented the best of what we expect of the Intercontinental brand.

Location. Staff pleasant.

Swimming pool extremely narrow and not useful for swimming most times. Problems in room with water pressure from tap and shower, problem with temperature mixing. Lighting in the room seemed complex when trying to turn off all lights. The “two stage” lift process is also a minor irritation. Overall Not particularly good value for money.
