Aravanes

This place was incredibly peaceful and tranquil, surrounded by beautiful mountains and breathtaking views. The food was delicious, and the entire experience was truly relaxing. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to recharge their batteries, unwind, and enjoy nature in a stunning setting.

Not really a complaint, but I found it a little difficult to figure out how to get the shower to produce warm water. It was probably just me doing something wrong, also, the water pressure in my room was a bit weak. Other than that, everything was absolutely fantastic! We left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and would gladly return, highly recommend!

The views from the terrace of the apartment and taverna were stunning. The apartment itself was a good size, nicely decorated, and comfortable. Tito and his wife were really lovely hosts, and so welcoming to our four month son. It was a lovely stay in the mountains, and we’d thorough recommend this place.

The best meals that we had in Crete were at the Aravanes Taverna. The rooms and beds were very clean and comfortable. The views of the mountains and valley from the balcony are amazing. It is very close to a number of great hiking trails: the Patsos gorge, the Platania gorge, and the Milli gorge. There's a spectacular drive through the Kourtaliotiko gorge to the southern beaches of Preveli, Triopetra, Skinaria and Plakias. For archeology buffs, the Syvritos site is a short walking and the archaelogical dig and museum at Eleutherna is a 30 min. drive.

We should have stayed longer.

Nice place, beautiful area and fantastic view. beautiful garden with small kids playground. Very friendly staff. good restaurant.

We didn’t get a room but an apartment that was split between a kitchen on the second floor and our room on the third floor connected by steep tall steps outside. If you want to to make tea or coffee at night or early in the morning, you have to dress, walk downstairs to the kitchen and back to the room. Rain or sunshine. Also hauling the luggage to and from the room was challenging.
