Matala Luxury Apartments

Wir haben drei Nächte hier verbracht. Die Kommunikation war super. George hat auf uns gewartet, um uns den Schlüssel zu übergeben und hat uns alles gezeigt. Die Wohnung hatte für uns mit zwei Kindern (14 und 18 J.) alles zu bieten was wir brauchten. Wenn man mit kleinen Kindern anreist muss man beachten, dass das zweite Schlafzimmer nur über eine Treppe zu erreichen ist. Die Lage war genial. Mama`s Bakery war direkt neben dem Apartment und wir konnten uns morgens ein leckeres Frühstück holen. Umliegende Restaurants waren alle super. Man konnte sich kaum entscheiden wohin. Zum Strand geht man über die Einkaufsstraße ein paar Treppen hinunter. Der Strand war trotz Hauptsaison nicht überlaufen. Am frühen Nachmittag wurden auch Sonnenliegen frei. Wir waren mit einem Mietwagen da und es gibt vor Ort keinen Parkplatz. Das war jedoch nicht schlimm, weil es öffentliche Parkplätze mit und ohne Gebühr (max. 5 Euro pro Tag) gibt. Abends sind die Beach-Bars zu empfehlen. Sehr schöne entspannte Bucht und kein Partytourismus. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

location's in the middle of Matala, right next to main placa, though quiet, if needed. the seperation of rooms via an additional staircase was optimal for us, so the little one had a dedicated room upstairs, still fully equiped with tv and air condition (like all other rooms). everything's there, coffeemachine, fridge, cooking equipment, perfect for a quick breakfast, whereas i do not recommend to plan cooking dinner, it might be too small - which is unnecessary anyways, as the taverns in Matala offer great food.

Spacious apartment, comfortable bed. Our host had kindly left a bowl of fresh fruit and refreshments. Very central location, close to bakery, tavernas, sea etc. A small but lovely balcony. We were in Matala for part of the annual ‘Hippy Music Festival’ and despite the volume of the music we managed to sleep with the help of the apartment’s soundproofing and earplugs. A great time was had!

The bathroom was rather small, which I had not expected, however, it was functional. The kitchen space is tiny. Be aware that there is a fairly steep flight of stairs up to the apartment.

In the centre just of the lovely square and within minutes of the beach.

Would have enjoyed access to the terrace.
