Swift Cottage

The cottage was very clean and cosy, with nice additional touches such as a basket full of blankets to snuggle up in an evening, and a whole shelf of DVDs if you wanted to watch a movie. There was also a pint of milk in the fridge when we arrived. The location was brilliant, a 2 minute walk from the local pub, and the cliff top walk, where you can also catch the land train into Bridlington. 5-10 minute walk down to the beach. The cottage was situated right outside the entrance to Sewerby Hall and gardens, which were lovely to walk around.

The beds were so uncomfortable, we didn't get a good night sleep the whole time we were there. I slept in one of the twin beds and when you sat on the mattress you sunk straight down in the middle (I am quite slim build), the mattress was not supportive at all and I constantly woke in the night with a back ache. The springs in the mattress were so noisy as well, every time you turned they creaked and popped. My dad slept in the double bed ( he is also very slim build) and he described the bed to be uncomfortable the same as the twin bed, very unsupportive and noisy mattress. This was a shame as everything else in the cottage and the location was brilliant. With some new mattresses on the beds, I would definitely rate the cottage 10/10 but unfortunately I've had to mark it down due to the uncomfortable beds. It would also be helpful to add some instructions for the TV to the folder that has other instructions for the cottage listed in it. There were lots of different settings and controls and we struggled to find the standard channels. This is an easy fix with a few instructions and not a big issue.

It’s a very nice,clean and cozy house which it provide all the things we need

It’s mostly perfect. The only thing we can challenge is the parking which is comparatively narrow. Still works fine but need good instruction.

Great location - near to the sea, Sewerby Park, bus stop and pub. Spacious and bright interior. Very comfortable bed with views of the sea. Parking space provided.

No hairdryer provided. Couldn’t get DVD player to work and in trying to do so then couldn’t get the TV to work. Instructions would have been helpful. Strangely there were 4 controllers (one without batteries). We couldn’t change the heating settings.

the key code given initially was wrong; the kitchen was poorly equipped; on our last night there was no available parking space; the dining table and chairs were cheap, uncomfortable and wholly inadequate
