Villa Lolù

Amazing host, we were made to feel right at home. Villa Lolu has a beautiful pool, hot tub and gym facilities but more than anything, it is the incredible food made and prepared for us on site by Gaetano that stands out. He was so kind as to prepare pasta for our toddler every day, then a full three course (plus) meals for us after bedtime - a parents’ dream holiday!

The hospitality of the owners Geatano & Francesca as well as their friends Monica and the lovely gentleman who took us to wine tasting is incredible. We arrived and got collected from the station, we had a fabulous Pizza night followed by a traditional Tuscan vegetarian feast the next. The villa is isolated so ideally you do need a car, but the host was happy to go to the shops and collect stuff we needed and then you pay back in cash. The pool area was stunning with the views, we went in September so a little cold but during hot months it must be even better. There is a lovely black and white cat and a little dog who are the owners pets but they hang around the yard and sometimes come inside the villa if you call them. We love animals so this wasn't a problem The host did a cooking class for us - and continuously catered for us as we were all vegetarian. We made the most delicious Ravioli and Tiramisu. Lastly, the villa is spacious with beautiful grounds, the host is on site but leaves you in peace unless you need something. The host also makes his own wine, olive oil and sauces which you get to sample. Google translate was needed as we don't speak any Italian, but we felt welcomed from the moment we arrived at the train station. There was a mix up with a bottle of wine when we arrived but this was settled with the host in a very polite manner.

The location was slightly rural to not have a car but for us this was a time to sit in the house and it's grounds and relax The mosquitos by the pool were relentless when trying to enjoy the sunset in the Jacuzzi - maybe some insect repelling plants would be helpful?. The house had citronella candles all around which were a massive help. We are already planning another visit, this time with a car and armed with mosquito repellent sprays, it was amazing and unforgettable. Booking this villa you will never experience hospitality quite like this, and have a memorable relaxing experience. We would always recommend here.

The host Gaetano was so helpful and an amazing cook, his dinner on the first night was a local Tuscan taste sensation and so plentiful, including the wine he makes. Everything was perfect, the view from the pool was terrific, the villa was cool and all the details were covered, including recommendations for places to eat and drink and to go and see. We could not imagine better hosts
