Wonderloft Hostel Kota Tua

This is a fab hostel, heaps of room to hang out, socialise or not as you prefer. Free hot and cold water, kitchen facilities (plus, awesome street food just outside in evenings!). Reliable wifi including in the rooms. Capsule-style girls dorm with personal lockers, lights, and power points. But the best thing - the staff! It's the little things that go beyond your expectations - helping after an accident, printing boarding passes, patience and helpful advice - that makes this hostel deserve more than 10 out of 10. And all without charging extra, unlike many hostels. Great job guys and girls, keep doing what you do!

Not one thing!

The location of this hostel was perfect. The main railway station was only a 3-minute walk away, making it very easy to travel around the city. Chinatown was just a 10-minute walk, and there were plenty of markets, restaurants, and a vibrant food street right outside the hostel. Kota Tua itself is a beautiful and lively area, especially at night. The riverside comes alive with coffee stalls, delicious street food, and live music, creating a fantastic atmosphere to relax and enjoy the local culture. Everything you need is within walking distance, making this an excellent place to stay. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Jakarta.

Superb location, literally steps away from the actions of Old Town Jakarta. Walking distance to Chinatown, train station and many other museums and old famous buildings. Love that it has an affiliation with a small cafe next door where I could get a free cup of coffee or tea with a main meal purchased, food is actually quite decent there, though service was a bit slow. I travelled solo but booked a two-bed room for privacy purpose and would like to have some space to move around ( so capsule hotel is not my option at all), and love it here. Bathroom was surprisingly clean, although the size of the shower may be small for those who are tall and big. Water pressure was decent. Air cond was leaking on the first night i stayed, but i didnt want to get it fixed because it is already late at night and I needed rest. Receptionists are very friendly and helpful. Kitchen / dining area is always full of action though, there are always people there eating or chatting/ cooking, good way for you to get to know new people. Ample of luggage storage space in common area. Water dispenser with hot and cold water is provided in the common area for free.

The private room i stayed in wasn’t really sound proof. Kept hearing people slamming doors from outside from other rooms. If you are not a light sleeper, this shouldn’t be an issue .

Excellent location, nice staff members. Good common area to relax in. free drink voucher at check-in for next door restaurant.

Facilities are in dire need of renovation, primarily the showers and toilets. Wi-Fi around the property is okay, but still quite slow. Rooms vary in condition. 3 nights in 2 different private rooms - one room had a functional air conditioning, the other did not. Despite numerous efforts to try to fix it, no resolve in the Jakarta heat. Staff member miscommunication.
