Legend Desert camp

Aufgrund des Irankriegs waren wir die einzigen Gäste. Trotzdem wurde für uns das volle Programm aufgefahren. Wir konnten unseren Sedan vor einem anderen Desert Camp parken, dann wurden wir im 4x4 abgeholt (20 OMR Round Trip). Wir haben das größte Zelt bekommen, ohne extra zu zahlen. Die Beduinentour (40 OMR) war zwar zwar teuer, aber hat sich gelohnt. Abends gab es ein leckeres Buffet und Lagerfeuer ganz für uns alleine, auch zum Frühstück wurde ein ganzes Budget aufgebaut. Das Bad war sauber und es gab fließendes Wasser.

PRACHTIGE locatie! Mooie rit naar het camp en een warm welkom, met thee en dadels. Heerlijk gewandeld in die eindeloze zandduinen en genoten van het diner en de mooie sterrenhemel. Na een goed ontbijt weer afscheid genomen.

Het is een magische plek op aarde. Fantastisch om hier te zijn geweest midden in de woestijn met alle rust. Het diner was echt heerlijk. Dank jullie wel.

-Communication was bad. I had messaged 2 days prior about where I had to meet the transfer to the desert camp but did not get a response until the night before. So this made getting transport from Muscat to the base camp very expensive - 100 OMR = 230€ (more than cost of accommodation). - We did the dune bashing tour (40 OMR = 90 €) on our first afternoon. This was underwhelming and not what I expected. There was no point of interest, no explanations. He attempted 3 times to go up dunes and that was the highlight. Our driver /guide did not speak any English and did not explain anything. We saw some camels but that was it. The car used was very old and had no working seat belts in the back. The seat creaked and moved about the whole ride. I did not feel safe in some circumstances. - As we were the only guests in the camp, dinner was brought over from the nearest village. It was Indian not traditional food at all. The soup was very tasteless and food too salty. Lucky we brought some snacks with us. -The next we had organized for camel rides (20 OMR = 50€ per person). Again we were just walked around for 30 minutes while 2 young guides held and lead the camels. The guides spoke no English and again no attraction to see or experience besides being uncomfortable for 30 minutes.
