This was our first time in Los Cabos and we really enjoyed our stay at Grand Solmar Pacific Dunes Golf and Spa Resort. The suite was lovely and the whole resort was so peaceful and serene. All of the workers really are so kind and attentive. We had breakfast in our room with the InVilla Dining daily and my favorite part of the morning is Maury, the person who takes all the orders. Maury is literally sunshine every day and is such a pleasure to speak to every morning. Maury makes sure nothing is missed, all while providing the most positively infectious greeting and service. My next favorite part was the pool service. Our attendant Eric at the pool bar/restaurant was completely outstanding. Eric literally had to have been logging a million steps daily the way he quickly took care of every single person non-stop, making sure they had every and anything they needed (food, drinks, towels, etc.) Eric always had such positive energy and was so extremely professional. My next favorite part was the spa. I had Antonia and my daughter had Marciela. Those two ladies were literally magic. They were so sweet and did such a phenomenal job with the massages. If you get an opportunity to do any excursions, we absolutely loved the camel rides with Cactus Experiences, our guide Billy was wonderful! The whale watching tour was so much fun and we also enjoyed the dinner show aboard the pirate ship. We wish we would have had enough time to try the ATV rides as well.
The only negative thing to mention that partially overshadowed such a tremendous experience was the sales ploy that they pitch. It is such a huge scam. They call your suite halfway through your stay, invite you to attend a sales pitch for a time share, offer you breakfast, discounts on the spa and excursions if you entertain their pitch. The marketing representative sits down with you as you eat breakfast, interrogating you about your employment and past travel experiences, so they know how high to pitch the time share pricing. They’ll take you and show you their most luxurious suite as a bait maneuver to peak your interest. After showing you the suite, they take you to the marketing/sales office to throw numbers at you to get you to buy into their program. When you turn down their extremely high rates and property maintenance fees, the “marketing manager” comes over extremely pompous, unprofessional and boastful saying: “He needs your business to get end of year bonuses.” When you graciously turn it down, unknowing that you understand a decent amount of Spanish, he tells the marketing representative to get you out of there, so he can move on to the next person. They will then take you to a back room in a different building, where another person does a last ditch maneuver to get you to buy into a false “membership program” called Eleve Travel Group, where they make you pay $1,890.00 and guarantee suites at any Grand Solmar properties for $399 for 7 days, twice a year for 10 years. They claim that they work directly for the developer, and this is a special rate they are offering. The contract does not list any affiliation with Grand Solmar. It is a massive scam that takes up 5 hours of your vacation time, once it’s all done. It’s terrible that Grand Solmar runs that scam because if it wasn’t for that, our vacation stay there would have been completely wonderful!

Beautiful large property with spacious rooms. We could see whales from our room balcony which was added bonus. Food at Anica restaurant is really good. Housekeeping did a good job at keeping our rooms cleaned throughout our stay.
Since the property is far away from the main Marina area, it lacks the food options within resort leaving not much choice. Only one restaurant Anica was open for dinner for 4 nights we stayed during new years eve. They seem to be short staffed because the wait times at the restaurant was easily 1hr from the time you order food. We experienced this for both breakfast as well as dinners. Another thing I didn’t appreciate about the resort was there was no basic coffee/tea selection in the room. You have to purchase that in the market to get your own coffee in room. Even basic stays provide this. We also sort of convinced to upgrade and pay for the same because the rooms we had booked, even though on same booking, were far away and they could not get us any closer option. Spa was also overpriced.

Nice views, pretty pools and facilities
Mediocre food. Expensive. Far from the city.
