Red Mountain Camp

I had the most incredible stay at Red Mountain Camp and it truly exceeded every expectation I had for a desert adventure in Jordan. From the moment I arrived, the stunning location nestled among the dramatic red mountains and vast desert landscapes left us speechless. The views from the tent were absolutely breathtaking — waking up to the sunrise painting the sandstone formations in golden hues was a highlight I’ll never forget.  The accommodations were surprisingly nice for a desert camp. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated with authentic touches, and the shared bathroom was spotlessly clean and well-maintained. The beds were comfortable, the seating area cozy, and everything felt premium and thoughtfully prepared. I especially loved the mountain views right from our space!  The staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely went above and beyond to make the experience special. They organised fantastic activities, including a memorable tour through the desert that took us to hidden canyons and epic viewpoints. The traditional Bedouin hospitality shone through in every interaction. Food was another standout — fresh, flavourful meals served under the stars. Everything tasted homemade and authentic. Evenings were pure magic: sitting around the campfire, stargazing in one of the clearest skies, and soaking in the peaceful silence of the desert. It felt like stepping into another world. I highly recommend Red Mountain Camp, it’s the perfect blend of adventure, comfort, and authentic cultural immersion. If you’re planning a trip to Wadi Rum, book this camp without hesitation. It was easily one of the best parts of my Jordan journey. I’ll definitely be back!

We had a really time with delicious dinner and breakfast. Our guide Ahmed showed us many places on the desert. Small but cozy rooms with puffy blankets! We definitely recommend!

Great location fairly deep into the valley away from most other camps and daily tour traffic. Food was good along with great staff.

Bed/pillow was not very good. I have back problems so maybe for others it’s ok. Speaking with friends who went to other camps and encountered the same thing I think all the beds are the same, so it’s nothing specific with red mountain... so maybe just bring your own pillow if possible...?

The camp is like a little piece of paradise lost in the middle of nowhere, you feel like nobody around as the other campsites are not visible. The camp is small which is perfect to meet other people, including locals while not altering the nature around.The staff is really welcoming and helpful and the food is delicious and we were positively surprised by the high comfort of the camp (beds, tents, showers, etc.) ! We took a 4x4 tour during one day with Ahmed which was a charming guide taking us from one spot to another and letting us strolling around : it is a great way to discover many places in a day, we highly recommend it !
