Lodge Villa Happo

Perfect value for money. It's a very old building and the interiors are very old as well. However, considering the ridiculously high prices in this area, this was a great deal. For this price point, I would accept the flaws. Very good restaurant across the street. If you see this at a low price, you'll find it justified. But if you see this at a high price, look for another place.

It's a low cost option, considering the alternatives in this neighborhood. Keeping that in mind, I was not disappointed. The house is old, yet clean and well kept. Everything in the room is old, but I did not have any problem with that. The location is a long walk from either hakuba station or the touristy area of happo-one. Food options are very limited. Get your dinner done across the street by 7pm. No options available beyond that when I was here in August. I assume it's more lively in ski season. All in all, it was great value for money. Just set your expectations low, considering that this is the cheapest option that isn't a dorm. I would recommend.

Valuable, staff good service

We arrived one night later than planned and informed the hotel well in advance; however, the price remained the same. When we arrived early in the morning, the room was extremely cold. The bath was not clean, and the ceramic toilet was ice-cold, which made our stay very uncomfortable. We went out briefly to collect our ski equipment, and when we returned, the front door was closed and we were locked outside the hotel for around 20 minutes in the cold. Additionally, I asked the owner for help making a call to the ski school, but he was unpleasant, even though our Japanese phone number was not working. The room is heated with a fan heater, so it becomes cold very quickly. Overall, our experience was unpleasant.
