Very welcoming hosts. The table d'hote dinners were truly exceptional - Isabelle is a very accomplished cook. The swimming pool is nice. The house itself is very impressive and the rooms we had were huge and very well appointed with everything you could possibly wish for during a stay and more.

The house is quite far from points of interest. At least a 90 minutes round trip each day, maybe more. Having said that, the roads are quiet and the countryside views are stunning.

We absolutely loved our stay here.Pieter and Isabelle run a wonderful, historically interesting home and share it with their guests. Most of the people we met there were Belgian and we made some friends , who definitely spoke English better than we spoke Flemish! The house is beautifully appointed with a mixture of traditional and modern furniture and fittings but all very stylish. Public rooms are comfortable and the big dining tables are great for being social. Our bedroom or rather, suite was fantastic. So much space. A useful sized sitting room , spacious bathroom with a great shower and a lovely bedroom with a very comfortable bed and loads of storage space. There are pleasant gardens outside with a lovely pool area. We swam in the pool and though cold it was refreshing. Pieter is a friendly, affable host and lovely Isabelle is a passionate cook who produces the most delicious meals. Breakfast was fabulous - everything that could be home cooked/produced, was. We ate at Joie de Vivre 3 nights out of the 4 we stayed and had wonderful meals at a reasonable cost sampling local champagne too.I need to get some of her recipes! Pieter and Isabelle sorted out for us to visit Michel Falmet, their local champagne supplier, where the owner gave us a brilliant tour including sampling. We brought a lot of his product back home! We had a good reconnection for an alternative restaurant in Joinville.

The only thing I can say is that there is very little in the town Doulevant- le- Chateau and it is a bit of a drive to anywhere else to get a meal on the night’s that Isabelle isn’t cooking.

Super vriendelijke eigenaren, hier voel je je meteen thuis! Mooie kamers en het ontbijt was goed met heerlijk zelfgemaakt brood.
