Georgous gated community with private beach, docks, openspace and walking trails

This unit had the perfect location. It is in the beautifully landscaped South Down Shores community, on the shore of Winnipesaukee’s Paugus Bay. You cannot see the water from the unit, but it is an easy 5 minute walk to the community’s private beach, with a nice sandy shore and a roped off swimming area. The water was clear and warm in early July. We had no need to go to any other pubic beach. Weirs Beach Boardwalk, M/S Mount Washington cruise and NH Bank Music Pavilion are a short drive away. There are a number of interesting towns nearby, with plenty of restaurants. The unit has a well equipped kitchen and full size refrigerator, and we were able to cook several dinners with the kitchenware that was supplied. Although the unit is somewhat sparsely furnished with mostly older furnishings, everything was clean and comfortable. We brought our own sheets for the three queen beds, and our own bath towels, although there was an assortment of bath towels and plenty of beach towels in the linen closet. If it is a problem for you to bring your own sheets, then I would communicate with the owner to work something out. The owner was very responsive to questions. The queen master bedroom had its own bathroom. Two other queen bedrooms (2d and 3d floor) and a twin trundle bedroom (3d floor) have to share a bathroom on the second floor. This was a little awkward for our group of six adults. There is a powder room on the main floor. We would stay again, but perhaps with fewer people.

We had a reunion of the whole family at South Down and the Eagle Drive property was a terrific addition. Our condo nearby was base camp and it was super easy to get everyone together.
