Anou Home - Guesthouse

We had booked due to good reviews and Anou didn’t disappoint. She made our stay so enjoyable helping with: - Provided us fruit when arriving at 11pm - Booking Angkor Wat tour - Arranging breakfast for us to take on the tour - Big amazing breakfasts at the homestay - Organising washing - Organising a doctors visit - Recommendations of awesome cafe and hotel pool around the corner. The homestay is clean, beds are firm but like a memory foam and had a great sleep. It costs $1-$2 to get anywhere at hand Siem Real town by tuk tuk. Highly recommend and we will be back again.

We felt at home from the very beginning. The room was very clean, spacious, and bright, with both air conditioning and a fan. Anou was an exceptional host — warm, kind, and always smiling. She gave us great recommendations about places to visit and local food, and she helped us organize our visit to the temples. We were extremely satisfied with our stay and truly appreciated her hospitality.

Honestly, nothing. Everything met (and even exceeded) our expectations.

Anou is an incredible host, a wonderful encounter during my trip. I was looking for Cambodian products and she helped me a lot during my stay. She is very kind and her food is delicious (especially the banana and coconut dessert). The room is clean and airy. Anou booked a tuk-tuk for me and welcomed me even if I arrived very late. Thank you so much for everything. Her neighbours are also very welcoming and kind. I will not forget her warm welcome.

The top floor room is spacious and clean. Anou was very kind and helpful when I needed to buy some fruit and good with providing local advice.

The AC is very weak and the room is infested with ants. Anou explained it was because of the rainy season so she didn't take any action to deal with it. Originally I booked 5 nights but in the late afternoon of my second day there Anou asked if I could check out the next day so that a group of khmer people could check in. After my booking, Anou forgot to update the calendar for the whole house and a group of 6 people booked all the rooms for 20 nights. I found her proposal quite inconsiderate knowing I had a full day tour to the Angkor Wat booked the next day. I decided to check out of there for 2 reasons. The first is I don't want to stay somewhere I'm not valued as a guest. The second is I couldn't stand the ants anymore. Anou didn't charge me for those 2 nights but I had to pack again and tried to find another accommodation that night which was quite stressful. It's not nice to be in such an inconvenient and stressful situation while on holiday. So my honest opinion is, despite how nice she can be, Anou prioritises her own people and money over foreign travellers. Very unreliable. PS: there are no ants crawling at my new accommodation.
