We Kebi Safari Lodge

The bungalows were nice and clean. Special about this lodge was the waterhole right in front of the terrace. Especially the rhinos were fascinating to watch from a short distance. We went on a sunset drive which we enjoyed.

Loved everything about it

Well equipped chalets; comfy beds; good food; lovely surroundings; access to a watering hole to enjoy from the comfort of your deck chair.

The only positive thing about this property is the location and animals. It was really cool to see rhinos, zebras, wildebeest etc come to the watering hole right in front of the main deck.

The place needs better management and a good scrub. Food was barely edible, definitely the worst of the whole 15-day trip. There’s bird droppings all over the main terrace, on the tables, chairs and floor. Saw one of the employees sweep the floor and then continue ‘sweeping’ the fabric-covered loungers with the same dirty broom, creating a cloud of dust. The staff seemed distant and unmotivated. But the worst part was the room we were given: it was a part of a two-bedroom family unit with a living room in the middle. We accepted it fully believing we would be the only people staying there, especially since everything was open and unlocked when we arrived. I even went into the other bedroom to look for hangers (two total, ours didn’t have any?) and to take hand soap (again, ours didn’t have any). An hour later, another couple checked in and was given the other room. They were heavy smokers and the women coughed literally the whole night. We could hear them loud and clear, since we were sharing the same straw roof, there’s really no sound proofing. The strangest part was that there were at least 4-5 empty bungalows, and that’s what their web site said as well. The staff at the reception was apologetic in the morning but told us they couldn’t do much about the room assignment since that’s done at their central booking office. Doesn’t anyone have any common sense? Even if the place was full, nobody should have to share that unit, since that’s not what we paid for. The terrace was of course also shared with two tables next to each other. In the morning, I wanted to go sit outside but they were there, smoking, and cigarette smoke is not something I want to smell when enjoying beautiful African morning.
