Pretty close to the ferry to Yakushima Ferry. Very cheap and basic as it was a quick overnight stay before the early ferry. Private room for two.
Place seemed oddly empty of staff. Check-in was sort of self regulated but a staff member appeared briefly to help us get registered. Bed was uncomfortable. But again, it was just a brief overnight pit stop.

The location and value for our money was amazing. We stayed in Kagoshima to visit sakurajima, and where able to walk to the ferry terminal within 10 minutes.
The building is older, and the room was not super clean. The self check-in process was also very unclear and it took a while to figure it out.

The guest house was well situated for central Kagoshima. The room had a new shower, toilet and separate vanity unit.
The place had a smell of cooking throughout, the bedroom was long with one bed at one end and the other at the other end!! The beds were old one was made out of mattress bits and the other mattress was old and stained, there wasn't any bed linen change while we were there and assorted towels had to be rented for ¥200 each. I cannot recommend this property at all.
