Booking and communication with property manager was easy and quick. We needed a place last min when my father in law passed away. The host knew we had a long drive from Ga to NY and made sure the lights outside were on and offered to let us stay a little past check out the day after his service. They were not expecting guests for another few weeks but made sure everything was perfect before our arrival. The yard is AMAZING! Perfect place to relax and give thanks. 10/10 would recommend and hope to be back

Booking was smoothe and the owner was easy to communicate with. The property is beautiful, even better in person, and the cabin was clean and inviting. We are a family of 6 (2 adult children, 2 teens) and we had plenty of room. The kitchen had pots and pans for cooking (for those who want to cook), dishes and utensils we also supplied. My family very much enjoyed the peace and quiet of the property, morning coffee on the deck, hiking in the woods, watching the fish in the pond, and nightly fires in the pit. You have to bring your own towels and paper products. The property has well water and the owner suggests bringing bottled water. I would highly recommend staying here!

This was the perfect getaway for our family! Tons of fishing, board games, and laughs. This a wonderful setting if you enjoy the woods and nature. The owner communicated everything with us. The woods kept the house cool at night, in fact the room with the air conditioner wasn't as cool as the rest of the house. The things we thought would make this better is if the beds were made upon arrival and if there were blankets for each bed. And if there was enough shampoo, conditioner, and soap/body wash for a family of 4. But, we will be sure we have those next time, because this is a gem!

The cottage is a great retreat from the hustle and bustle of life and mere steps away from all that Chautauqua Lake has to offer. Communication with owners was super easy and access to the property was, likewise, easy. The pond on the property along with the fire pit added to the experience. This is a great place for a getaway. Highly recommend this property if privacy and proximity to Chautauqua lake are what you are looking for.

The property was great! It was a bit muddy (as expected for this area in early April) but the location was beautiful and the house was nice and clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and managed to get clear skies for the eclipse without dealing with the traffic. Definitely plan to keep this in mind for future trips.

Oh we absolutely are leaving 5 stars! Would leave more if we could. This place is gorgeous and the hosts are awesome. I don't understand how anyone could have anything negative to say about this cabin in the woods. And don’t get me started on that master bath! AMAZING! It's a unicorn of a find! And don’t tell anyone, but it’s a bit of a fishing honey hole! I hope they will have us back year after year. What a great stay!

My huband, daughter and I stayed here 10 yrs ago with our two dogs. We had a wonderful time then and it was a repeat. We have since lost one of our dogs but our 14 yr old pup enjoyed relaxing by the firepit, pond and walking around in peace and serenity (as did we!). Our only regret is having to pack up and come home. It rained a few times during our stay and we had front row seats to a stunning lightening show on our last evening. We passed the time with boardgames and relaxing to the sound of rain. We cannot wait to come back, and this time we won't be waiting 10 years!

This property is so beautiful. The Cabin is clean, spacious, and has everything you need for a perfect stay. The outdoor space is awesome; whether you want to chill on the deck, have a fire in the fire pit, or throw a fishing line in the lake. Our granddaughter caught tons of blue gills, sunny’s and small bass and loved it. I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay. The host Liz was easy to contact and was so helpful when we reached out. We will be booking this property again❤️

This was a great cabin stay for my family of 7! We went to Chautauqua and Niagara Falls and it as the perfect getaway from our NYC part of the trip. New sheets and great outdoor seating made the stay even better. We saved money by cooking at home and bought water at the store so we didn’t taste the tap water. We created nice memories family together at this remote cabin!

My family and I stayed here for a few nights. The cabin was absolutely beautiful! My family and i loved the location. Close trip to Niagara falls! The woods around the cabin was beautiful the lake was amazing for fishing and my little guy caught his first fish! Highly recommended staying here and the host was always in contact and was great! Our long weekend stay at this chalet was perfect!! The property was private, quiet, and had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend! The pond was amazing for some catch and release fishing. Our two furry friends had some off leash training and wore themselves out before sleeping next to our evening fires. I would totally recommend this to anyone looking to get away for a few days!! And Liz (owner) was fabulous with her communication with me when we had any questions!!!

The outside property is beautiful. The challenge starts when you enter the door. No sheets or towels (stated up front) . No usable/drinkable water. It smells like a sewer and you have to use bottled water for everything because you don’t want contact with the water. No soap or shampoo. I don’t want to go on and on. Suffice to say it was nothing like other vacation rentals we have loved over the years. We struggled with the value since it is basically camping.

We decided to do a last minute getaway to Chautauqua Lake and even though we couldn't find a house on the lake, luckily we found this place with a pond. We ate our breakfast and dinner on one of the decks overlooking the pond which was really nice. In the evening we had a fire(don't forget your firewood). The temperature was cold enough to keep the bugs away but we still had our bug lanterns. Also we recommend taking paper towels and napkins since they are not provided. If you are looking for a quiet place to go near Chautauqua Lake away from the crowds but close enough to access the restaurants etc at the lake, this is an excellent location. Another benefit is how responsive Liz was to provide us information and answer all our questions.

Communication with the owner is fantastic. Any question was answered immediately. Cabin is on a great property with awesome views and trails to walk. Sitting by the fire at night was the best. The pavilion was a perfect place to store the wood we brought. Inside the cabin was clean, had heat we actually needed at night, and kitchen has the essentials. The only “warning” I would add is be prepared to live out of your suitcase as there are no closets or dresses for cloths. No big deal when your doing a weekend in the woods. We will come back.

Everything was just as described in the listing. Communication with the owner Liz was terrific. We had no issues connecting with the satellite TV or the WiFi (it was a working vacation for me). My husband and pup enjoyed walking all of the many trails on the property. We had cozy campfires at night. The pond was a fabulous view for sunrise coffee and sunset cocktails. Very peaceful and serene retreat from chaos of life! Highly recommend this property!

We met my in-laws half way at this property and couldn't have been more pleased. It was just as described and very relaxing. We didn't leave the property the whole trip. We fished every day and walked the trails and picked wild raspberries! Our host was very kin and communicated very well. Thanks for a great memory!

My family stayed at this property for a week. It was my husband, me, my two children ages 3 and 5 and my parents. This was a perfect place to spend quality time with each other. The house did not disappoint. It was exactly like the pictures. The property is private and beautiful. My daughters and their grandpa LOVED fishing in the pond. We are a family who loves to fish so seeing my daughters be able to keep catching fish out of the pond is a memory I’ll always cherish. You are close enough to enjoy everything Chautauqua has to offer. We went boating, to the beach, the state park and Midway. The owner was very responsive and made sure our stay was wonderful. I would recommend staying at this house!!

We had a great stay, our dogs loved it and so did our children. We had an issue with the wifi which the owner did her best to rectify. My only complaint would be that it says there’s a combination shower/tub bathroom with a photo of a very nice tub in the ad, you don’t have access to this on the property. It’s behind a locked door with an owners only sign on it. Other than that the ad is accurate and the property was well kept and peaceful.

Wonderful place to get some rest and relaxation. Very peaceful and quiet location. Great pond. Complete with two resident mallards. The walking trail was nice even in the rain. Saw a wild turkey and a deer. Don't forget to bring your own sheets, towels, and water. The location was centrally located to Chautauqua Lake and the Institute. Definitely check out Guppy's restaurant for dinner. The fish fry was great. Would definitely stay again.

If you are looking for a quiet, beautiful place to relax and enjoy nature, this is the place for you. My wife and I (and our dog) had a great 4 day/3 night stay here and really enjoyed it. It was a great place to work on some off-leash training with our dog. The property has it's own private fishing pond. We caught and released Bass and Bluegill. The cabin was nice and clean. You'll need to bring your own sheets and towels but that's not a big deal. Our only issue was that we couldn't find the DVD player that was mentioned in the description. But overall we really enjoyed our stay here! Rob and Jill Hubbard
