About this apartment rental
Located in Playa Langosta, a short distance south of Tamarindo. The beautiful Spanish style villas at La Esquina are only 100 meters from the beach. Our villa welcomes you as you enter a naturally lush landscaped complex with a refreshing pool and a private dipping pool on our spacious private terrace.
The entire complex, including the large parking area, is walled, and gated with community guard patrol service. La Esquina has beautifully maintained lush grounds that attracts lots of birds for viewing.
La Esquina penthouse has 3000 spacious square feet of indoor/outdoor living. Located on the top/penthouse/3rd floor level(with elevator); the penthouse takes up the entire third floor. Complete with a private open air/covered dining patio that seats 12+ along with your own private dipping pool right on the private oversized terrace for perfect indoor/outdoor living..
This gorgeous stucco complex has the most beautiful pool in Playa Langosta or Tamarindo - 90 foot garden swimming pool complete with lush tropical plants surrounding, lounge chairs and an outdoor luxury shower. Your condo is professionally furnished, offering 3 large ensuite bedrooms, a large great room for relaxing, a private terrace off of each bedroom with comfy chairs for reading/napping. It also offers a large, open, teak and well equipped, granite kitchen complete with an adjacent BBQ terrace. Barbeque terrace also has table and chairs for four persons, fan and light.This villa also has a laundry room with washer and dryer, and 3.5 full-sized tiled bathrooms. Very fast internet that you can even receive WIFI at the large pool downstairs,
The open dining room area will comfortably seat 8 adults with additional dining area off of the large terrace adjacent to the great room(where you can sit 8 more!). There is also and additional open air patio on the roof only one flight above. You and your guests can take in the stunning views of the Playa Langosta coastline and spectacular sunsets from the roof deck.
Extensive use of beautiful teak wood adorn all the cabinetry complemented by locally quarried natural stone flooring and beautiful Italian granite counter tops throughout.
Each bedroom room has a coffered ceiling fan, and control for volume of music. Living room also has ceiling fans. Great air conditioning.
Master bedroom has private master deck for reading, lounging. One guestroom has private balcony, other guestroom opens to grand balcony. Guestrooms of similar size with identical large bathrooms.
Open the main entrance door to the penthouse and walk right up a half flight of stairs to the roof deck and enjoy the sunset or have breakfast while watching the waves. The common roof deck hosts views spanning over Langosta beach and the mountains and is constantly visited by the ocean breezes year round.
The beach is a short stroll down (about 100 meters) a garden path that you enter from across the street, and through a municipal park, and is great for strolling, tide pooling or walking to the lively town of Tamarindo. Playa Langosta is a quiet upscale residential community, but only a 15-20 minute beach walk (or five minute ride) to the lively town of Tamarindo known for its fabulous surfing, dining, shopping and fun. There is also a great surfing beach at Playa Langosta that is about a 5-10 minute walk from the condo. You can walk to Tamarindo from Playa Langosta on the Beach at low tide, or on road at all times.
Absolutely the best beach club ever is 5 minutes away by car, with outstanding food, beach tables, equipment to rent (kayaks, etc.) and surf lessons.

The amenties are in a great location, and was a perfect fit for 3 couples. It was very spacious. The 3 bedrooms each with its own washroom allowed for great privacy

Great location, perfect size for our family of seven.Very much appreciated the well equipped kitchen, the outdoor patio was the best!!Unfortunately because of a miscommunication with our concierge we never got the bbq working..

As much as I knew going in that a Costa Rica vacation rental would not be as luxurious as one in the USA, I was a bit surprised upon our arrival by the state of this villa. The website photos do not accurately reflect the wear and tear of the furniture particularly the outdoor patio furniture and the kitchen lights and cabinets. (Very, very old.)
Also, in one of the bathrooms, there was a family of tiny ants residing along the shower stall. Speaking of the bathroom, it was never reflected on the website that we couldn’t flush our toilet paper but instead had to put our toilet paper in a waste basket. (By the way, other tenants on property in different rentals could indeed flush their toilet paper.)
Within the house the wi-fi was slow and was not accessible in one of the back bedrooms. Would not recommend this Wi-Fi for remote work purposes. Owners definitely need some upgrades to this villa including key code entry as other units which we saw had upgrades.
This isn’t specific to our rented villa, but building maintenance is definitely lacking. For example, while I was in the elevator the doors would not open, and I was stuck during the 90 degree heat. Also, the lounge chairs around the community pool were so poorly worn and aged. Also,, very spotty wi-fi around the pool area. One positive the pool was lovely.
Local property management responded to issues but repairs within unit not done.
Would I recommend this villa? I would have to say no.
