Addo Wildlife

Well located for a trip to Addo Elephant Park and surrounds, and the animal rehab centre is a nice touch for the children.

The customer experience could be so much better with some attention to detail and hands-on management. The accommodation is good but not four-star in my view, and the space in the lodge is under-utilised (resembling instead the lobby of an exhibition hall). None of which would have troubled me had the service in the restaurant not been so shockingly poor. I was one of several guests who had to send food back to the kitchen as it was served cold, and that was after a 45 minute wait. We were seated at 07:40 the following morning for breakfast, and it eventually arrived at 08:30 and - again - cold. That evening we returned for dinner, and I had to ask a waitress to turn down the volume on her video call which had shattered the silence of a dining room which doesn't appear to have a sound system. Happily, our breakfast arrived in good time the following morning, but the table alongside had no such luck, needing to head off on their scheduled game drive on an empty stomach. I'm sure, like us, they would have raised their concerns with management had anyone bothered to ask if we were enjoying our stays. Overall, what could have been a very good experience was spoiled by poor management and customer relations.

Staff and facilities were excellent. Restaurant offers a variety of choices.

The booking was made for 4 adults but was only registered for 2. We were then given a family unit, which was great, except that it wasn't quite ready. Dishes were still in dishwasher and some remotes didn't work and there were insufficient towels.

Restaurant breakfast cold had to keep asking them to bring warm food. New managers have lot to learn and should check on presentation and make sure guest have received their food before they take their breaks while we waiting for omelet that takes 20min. Food was tasteless Pastries tasted old. Pizza disguised 🥸

The accommodation it self was really nice, I can't really. talk about any facilities as it was raining while we were there. They didn't even mention a pool to us, I haven't seen it but it was probably there.

The food in the restaurant is really not good, but the staff itself is lovely. I asked for my food to be well done as I am pregnant but they still gave it medium rare.
