Absolutely everything. This did not feel like a hotel - but rather a home away from home. The decor was absolutely beautiful - it screamed luxurious, elegant and timeless. As soon as you walk into the reception, it smells glorious. The room was massive, with ample space for your belongings. Coffee, tea and water refills every day. The main area of the hotel was so boutique and gorgeous. But what really made this place was the staff. Me and my husband have travelled to many countries, and stayed in hundreds of hotels - but this was by far our most favourite experience. Ozzy and Viecko were the 2 servers and were there every day. They helped us with absolutely anything we needed. Whether it was booking an excursion, or assisting with drinks / meals - they were there. Nothing ever seemed to annoy them, hassle them or was a problem for them. We genuinely felt so sad to leave here because of those two - the hotel are extremely lucky to have 2 amazing gentlemen working for them. We would return here in a heartbeat and will be recommending to anyone who comes to this part of Indonesia.

Air conditioning wasn't cooling enough.

From the moment we arrived, to the moment we departed, we couldn’t have asked or received better service. Ozzy, in particular was attentive, helpful and quite simply wonderful. Ozzy provided us with 2 wonderful places for dinner. The first was called Gudeg Sagan, offering traditional food and about 10min by taxi. The second was called Bakmi, also around 10min by taxi. Taxis are cheap so don’t worry. Ozzy’s co-worker and manager were also helpful and again nothing was too big or small. We had a wonderful room in the Presidential Suite, much needed after travelling for 3 weeks. Raintree is privately owned and a family home. Absolutely loved it and so peaceful from the busyness of Yogyakarta. Book here, stay away from the corporate hotels. No character or soul in them.

the staff and the owner are amazing. They try to help you with whatever you need, such as helping you to get a taxi when you are in the middle of the city. they are simply amazing.

our room needs maintenance, for example there were loose tildes in the bathroom, the paper on the walls was very dirty and loose as well. But the worst was the sewer smell of the bathroom, it was difficult to sleep with that smell spreading on the room.
