Apartamentos Colonial Home

This is a conveniently located place. Just a short walk to the Basilica, and close to the historic quarter. The flat has a reasonably good kitchen, a comfortable bed and is as described.

The check in process. Make sure you WhatsApp them as we confirmed the time we were going to arrive on Booking.com and there was nobody waiting for me, which caused some issues with getting in. The washing machine and tumble dryer remain a mystery, despite promises that we would be shown how to use them. The owner is quite negative. After managing to access the flat (see above), I expected an apology from the owner. Instead I received a WhatsApp message outlining the fact that the place wasn’t a hostal. The message was a whole series of ‘we aren’t …. We can’t ….. we don’t…’.

This was the best place and the safest place we ever lived in Ecuador. The landlord was so caring and very concerned about our stay at his private apartment. Everything was clean and his assistant was very accommodating. We loved it there.

Location and staff

The place was cold, it was a walkup three stories!
