Very friendly staff and affordable stay for some excellent jungle adventures.

It was a good value and in good proximity to several locations including the Butterfly Farm, Big Rock Falls and Rio Frio

The general area is a bit run down and the big barking dogs were annoying and ruined the feel.

Marcela's place is tranquil and immaculate

Marcela and her staff were so welcoming and attentive, and the grounds were even more beautiful in person than in pictures! We felt very well taken care of and at peace while staying here. Food and drinks were great and very reasonably priced, and Marcela volunteered to drive us anywhere we needed since we came without a car. One of the staff (I didn't get her name, but she is a gem) makes a delicious Coco Loco. Much of the food uses fruit grown on the property!

The outdoor shower in our treehouse didn't get very warm, which discouraged us from showering as it was exceptionally cold during our stay. However I imagine in normal weather this isn't an issue!

This is well located and a pleasant place to experience many of the destinations in the area.

The staff and the owner were very accomodating and ready to make us good food and make sure we were comfortable. It was fun meeting and sharing meals with other travelers.

YOu will need a car and be comfortable with dogs.

Lovely spot for visiting Mayan ruins and caves. Marcela and Eva were very helpful - arranging tours and transportation. Home cooked food was delicious.

Just incredible. We truly hope to come back someday!

My partner and I decided to take a last minute trip for the week of Christmas 2025. We had never been to Belize, and both had not been out of the country in far too long. After some friends recommended Belize for its easy travel from California and the amazing experiences they had, we decided to go for it. We opted for two nights in the "mainland" and the remaining 3 nights more on the island side. The fact we were able to get one of the last rooms at Green Valley Inn was such a blessing. Marcela and her crew were just incredible! The food was awesome, the rooms were so clean, the scenery was amazing, and everyone was so accommodating.

Truly, the only bummer we experienced was the weather. We were so looking forward to doing the ATM cave tour, but because of the heavy rain our excursion had to be canceled because they closed the caves. Mother nature had other ideas for us. So, Marcela still took it upon herself to find other activities for us to do (since we did not rent a car for our trip). She set us up with her friend Mario who took us for a Mayan Ruin tour, then a chocolate tour and we still had an absolutely amazing time!

Green Valley Inn gave us a great start in Belize.

The host was very attentive and helpful. The gardens were beautiful. Meals were optional which gave us flexibility. Meals were delicious!

Very relaxing place!

Marcela takes great care of her guests and makes sure everything runs smoothly. The property and accommodation are very clean and extremely well maintained. Green Valley Inn truly feels like a small oasis. The pool was clean and well kept. We can highly recommend this place.

We had a car, which we were glad about, as the property is about a 5–10 minute walk from the main road. With a backpack this is fine, but with a suitcase it might be a bit less convenient :-)

Great experience surrounded by nature

Great quiet location. Marcela and her staff are wonderful and extremely helpful. She arranged for to/from transportation for us from the airport and helped book some local tours as well. Marcela runs an all-female staff inn which is extremely refreshing to see (in this day). Breakfast is $9 per person and was very filling and delicious. We also had dinner on one day which was also good. Book the tree house if you can - it's well worth the experience. The rooms have a safe, coffee/tea, mini-fridge and extremely comfortable beds. I have no hesitation in recommending this place to anyone visiting San Ignacio area.

The location is a outside town, so it is better to either rent a car or make advance arrangements with Marcela for transportation around the area.

Wonderful cabins, hosts, and chefs

Absolutely wonderful. Rooms were classy and spotless, Marcela and her team were so kind and caring. She anticipated what our family may be interested in, making special dishes for our daughters at breakfast and dinner. Her cooking is delicious, I think she's a foodie and it was wonderful having fresh home cooked meals after several days of eating at restaurants. The pool was spotless too, and Marcela arranged tours for us. The caves were all closed due to rain on the scheduled day and she let us know right away, and suggested alternatives that our family really enjoyed. Thank you so much Marcela and team, for giving us such a memorable stay!

Paradise in the jungle

Absolutely fabulous. Beautiful surrounding, like if you were in the jungle. Very friendly and helpful owner Marcela. A really sweet lady. Nice dip pool. It’s a small paradise in the jungle.

If you come by bus, you will need to walk quite a distance from the busstop to the Inn. It is not an easy road to walk with luggage.

Perfect place to stay and relax with a group

Green Valley Inn is a fabulous oasis. Our group - three families including 5 teens - stayed for 5 nights. It was the perfect place for us to all have our own space but spend time together. The grounds were beautiful with loads of native birds. The cabins were clean and comfortable. Marcela was a gracious host, allowing us to spread out over all of the cabins, cooking delicious meals with Eva (fried jack! coconut rice!), and just generally taking care of us. She arranged for two great guides - Elias & Michael - to take us to the ATM cave. They were perfect for our group. Highly recommend staying here - it was a slice of heaven for our group.

GVI was located off the beaten path in the most beautiful jungle setting. We were served fresh juices from fruit grown on the property and delicious local cuisine. Marcella is a wonderful hostess and very accommodating in every way. I plan on returning to this property on a regular basis.

Lovely and Friendly Jungle Oasis

Marcela and Wolf carefully curated this beautiful, clean, unpretentious copse of cabins in the jungle. The plantings on the grounds are beautiful. The food is tasty . The pool is refreshing without a strong chlorine smell. It is a very friendly and special place. The care and planning taken in developing and running this little oasis are felt deeply during your stay. Our family of 6 spread out over 3 cabins (2 adult children).

It was a drive to all activities but we expected that as we wanted to stay in the jungle.

Fantastic hosting in wonderful accommodation

Incredibly warm and friendly hosting from Marcela and Eva, in a tranquil paradise. Just a short drive to the ATM cave which was well worth a visit, and then great to relax by the pool back at the accommodation. I stayed in the treehouse which was wonderful, and all the small things had been considered so it really felt like home. The home cooked meals were excellent. It really felt as though Marcela and Eva truly want guests to have a great time, and they take great care to make sure this happens.

The location itself is beautiful. The gardens are amazing and so well looked after. Marcela and her team make you feel at home. They cook delicious meals which were really appreciated after always eating out during the rest of the trip. Marcela also helped us organise any tours and she always kept us informed. All in all, a lovely place and a lovely team. We only stayed for 2 nights but I wish we had stayed for a week! So much to do around the area as well. Will be back :)

Amazing spot to stay!

Marcella is an amazing host! We felt very comfortable, the landscaping is gorgeous, food is amazing, cozy treehouse with a privacy porch to lounge on. Loved the cute outdoor shower, never experienced that before! At night you can see fireflies, during the day you see beautiful plants and birds. It’s an awesome stay, secluded but also conveniently placed for venturing out.

The grounds are beautiful. we stayed in the tree house, it was very cozy and definitely felt like we were in a tree. Marcella and her staff were so welcoming and nice to us. We loved her yummy breakfast in the outdoor kitchen/dining room. The local homemade yogurt was amazing. Marcella arranged our excursion to the ATM cave with the best guide. Staying at Marcella’s property set such a positive tone for the rest of our trip.

Amazing stay in a little paradise

Amazing stay!! The cabins and the whole surroundings are wonderful and feel like a paradise in the middle of Belize. Marcela was the perfect host, she even picked us up in San Ignacio with all our luggage. She is also super helpful with organising tours like ATM and Caracol and really with everything else. We loved our time at her place. If I could give 12/10 I would. Highly recommend!

Peaceful location with small pool. Marcela was very helpful and her breakfasts were tasty. The location is good for activities such as Big Rock Falls and ATM cave. The private ensuite showers were in the fresh air - a lovely touch. The outside seating area was a great place to relax.

Wonderful!

We stayed for 3 nights and loved our stay! The rooms are on the small side but decorated with love and meticulously clean. The beds are very comfortable and we slept really well. We stayed with our teenage daughter and had two rooms, each with their own bathroom. We loved the outdoor shower and the well maintained tropical garden. Marisel is an amazing host, nothing is too much trouble. She cooked us a delicious homecooked vegetarian meal every night. Prices of food and drinks are very reasonable. She even prepared a picnic lunch for our long drive out to Caracol. If you like evening entertainment, then this is not the place for you, but if, like us, you like peace and quiet and a friendly place to stay, then don’t hesitate to book!

A beautiful place surrounded with a stunning garden. The room is confortable, nicely decorated and has a warm atmosphere. I loved the outside shower. Very clean. Very very kind staff, all of them. It has a small swimming pool were I appreciated spending an afternoon by the sun, after a long and exhausting trip. My host was kind, very helpful in everything I needed to organise my stay. She arranged visits around (caves, etc) at a decent price. The dinner was really good.

It is away from the main city so if you have no car, expect to take local buses and walk. But that's easy.

Wonderful owner helping out with tours. First filled Minibar I had in 7 weeks travelling. I really appreciated it. Super clean. Very nice style. Very comfortable bed. Calm. Breakfast available, but not included in he price. Pool, but very cold Outdoor shower, warm, but not hot. But awesome idea. You can shower under a sky full of stars. I loved it.
