El Jardín de Wallada

The location is excellent, very close to everything in the old town. The apartment has a lovely private terrace. There's a lift, which is great for luggage, as the apartment is on the 2nd floor.

It was a strictly remote arrangement with the host - via WhatsApp only - and minimal information is given. The host gave us the wrong address for the apartment, which is annoying when you arrive hot and tired. We were originally told someone would meet us with the keys, then we were told to pick up the keys from a location about 5-7 minutes from the apartment - again, annoying when arriving after a long journey. Only one set of keys was provided for 3 of us, which was really inconvenient. They also didn't explain things, such as the lock release button near the front door, which would have helped us enormously. The host does reply promptly to messages within business hours, and helped us quickly when we locked ourselves out (see one set of keys for 3 people, above!). However, there is a lack of friendliness and warmth.

Honestly, we loved everything about the property....its location, views of the Catedral, patio and plants, decor, light and coolness in the heat

Inside was good, bedroom had good wardrobe space, the bed was comfortable. Bathroom was a walk in shower which was fine. Lounge was large and airy with comfy seats, great views of Mesquita. Kitchen was ok, it was adequate for us as we ate out most of the time.

The outside really let down the apartment. The terrace off the bedroom was in very poor condition. The parasol was broken, the seat pads for the chairs were old and worn out. The cushions for the furniture were dirty. There was a plastic bag full to overflowing with rotting leaves resting against one wall. The floor was very messy and unswept. The communal terrace had an L shaped set of furniture but no cushions, again the upkeep of area was poor. The weather was lovely but I was put off sitting outside due to conditions of terraces.
