Lokal Bali Hostel

I honestly don’t want to give this place such a high rating—because I want to keep it all to myself! ;-)) I’ve never been much of a fan of hostels, and I only chose LOKAL BALI HOSTEL for a quick overnight stay before heading to my next destination. But wow, was I wrong! LOKAL BALI HOSTEL is incredibly clean and fresh. Even when sharing a room, you feel like you have your own private space, thanks to large, comfortable beds equipped with curtains—making your bed feel like your own little fortress. The pool is clean, the rooms are spotless, and the restaurant is excellent. Everything is in pristine condition! As an added bonus, the staff are incredibly helpful and service-oriented. One person who truly stands out—and deserves a special shout-out—is the wonderful Uti! With a smile, she handled everything and sorted out whatever you asked for. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was absolutely lovely and genuinely curious about how she could make an already fantastic place even better—hats off to an owner like that! On my next trip, LOKAL BALI HOSTEL will definitely be my base (other hotels will just be secondary options). It’s not just because of the great location, the cleanliness, or the world-class staff and owner—no, it’s mostly because you truly feel at home there. Loved everything

The hostel is clean and well decorated. Like a small oasis from the scooters and crowded streets of Kuta. The staff are super nice and friendly. The rooms are comfy, have aircon and privacy curtains, super quiet. Showers are hot and good water pressure. The pool is well maintained and perfect temperature. There is alot of area to work or chill. The cafe on site has good food. And there's super cute kittens rhat hang around! Location is great for access airport. Its about a 20 min walk so you dont even need to get a scooter/taxi ride to your accomodation if you don't want. Its tucked back away from busier streets which i found to be a good thing because food nearby is cheaper and streets are less crowded. You can easily get to those spots via cheap grab bike.

The only thing I'd love for them to have is letting us use the kitchen to cook. Though food in Bali is relatively inexpensive especially if you go to local warungs. We can use the fridge for storage and some of the utensils though. Location is a bit far from more popular spots but I wasn't too concerned with that for this trip.

There’s a huge TV in the living room, a pool, and a social area; the beds are very large.

The bathrooms didn't meet my expectations: they looked dirty.

Good location, spacious rooms with good lockers and wide beds. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The cafe attached was very cheap and good.

For the price there were a few things that were disappointing… the shower heads were broken and didn’t stay up so you had to squat to get under the water, the mattress was very old and saggy, and the windows don’t have a seal so even when closed there are gaps between the window and the framing which lets in all the sound and some bugs. Didn’t use the pool as it didn’t look super inviting.
