Casa-Mirador La Alhacena

The apartment definitely has a lot of character, and the view from the terrace is amazing. The bathroom was nice and clean, and the bed was really comfortable too.

The location is right in the old town and the views are great. Just be aware that getting luggage up to the property can be a bit of a mission. It wasn’t a big deal for us, but it could definitely be difficult for someone older or with mobility issues. The bedroom is also right beside a viewpoint/courtyard, so you can hear people outside talking until around midnight. Again, it didn’t ruin our stay, but it’s worth knowing if you’re a light sleeper. The main reason for the 7/10 rating is the check-in process. They ask you to give an exact arrival time two days beforehand, which can be a little frustrating when travelling because plans and timings can easily change. A self check-in option would make things much easier. There was actually a lockbox by the door, so I’m not sure why they don’t utilise it. Overall, a good stay in a great location, but a little more flexibility around check-in would make a big difference.

Appartement très charmant, très bien placé. Nous avons adoré y séjourner et contempler l’Alhambra sur la terrasse 🤩. Hôtes très gentils.

Un petit point d’amélioration possible : la literie du rez-de-chaussée pourrait peut-être gagner en confort.

The hosts/contacts, were friendly, caring and professional. Very helpful and quick to answer questions. Views were great from the property. It was cool inside, even on the hotest day. Cottage is full of character and in a lovely area. Ideal for a solo traveller/couple.

Difficult to get transport near to the cottage to drop off luggage, as streets are narrow. A number of steps to reach the property with luggage. No magical answer, but once at the cottage it was worth it.

Wonderful experience staying in the Albaicín. Peaceful location away from the tourist crowds. The house had great character and a homely feel, with a lovely outlook toward the Alhambra that rivalled the best viewpoints but all to ourselves. Communication was smooth and the introduction on arrival was very helpful.

The final walk to the accom might be challenging with heavy bags. The bed was smaller and firmer than we prefer, and the shower was on the small side.
