Zermatt Panoramic View Flat

Excellent view in a very comfortable property which, if you are fit and healthy, I would highly recommend.

For our group the steps were no problem, but if you are immobile, at cardiac risk, or injured - do not choose this property.

The apartment is very central, with a short walk to the train station, the high street, several supermarkets, and the Zermatt-Sunnegga ski lift. Life in all of Zermatt was severely disrupted while we were there. Heavy snowfall and avalanches caused a power cut, and closure of rail lines, roads, supermarkets, restaurants, walking trails and ski lifts for two out of the four days we were there. Nevertheless, we very much enjoyed the apartment, and the owner and the caretaker were both fantastically helpful, and they kept us up-to-date on when services would be re-opened. The owner even treated us to a fantastic meal at Le Chalet da Guiseppe, when it re-opened.

There are a lot of stairs to climb up to the apartment. There was much snowfall while we were there, and although the caretaker was very good at clearing snow, the stairs were icy in the mornings, although that ice quickly disappeared when the sun reached the valley floor.

The apt itself was nicely appointed: clean and comfortable, well furnished and had a great view.

There was no shower gel and hand soap in the washroom. The property owner needs to declare that the property is accessible only through a huge number of stairs and not 2 flights of stairs as indicated to me by the owner after the booking was made. I have a problem with my ankle and climbing after an accident i had a few years ago and would have preferred not to have to go through this huge climb. The view is spectacular and the apt is lovely and clean but this should be declared up front and not after the booking was made. The climb is definitely not two flights of stairs!!! This placed a severe damper on my experience.
