Le Clos Réaud

L’accueil de Christine et Stéphane est exceptionnel. On se sent accueillis et cocoonés. Le cadre est magnifique, encore plus beau que sur les photos. Les chambres sont luxueuses et décorées avec soin. La piscine est extraordinaire. Les petits déjeuners sont délicieux et aux petits soins. Il est également possible de dîner avec Stéphane aux manettes qui fait déguster un très bon curry indien.

Beautiful property in a tranquil and attractive garden with easy access from the Main Street of Blaye. Fantastic location within a short walk to the citadel and restaurants. Christine and Stephane are the most wonderful hosts providing everything you need for a relaxing stay.

The Hosts were so lovely, and generous they gave us such a warm welcome, they went above and beyond for us and even went out to pick us up a take out dinner from the last place open, as we arrived late. They have their own wine in the room that is very lovely. We loved our stay and if we were in the area again we would stay again.

What we discovered instead was something far more special—a charming and enchanting retreat at Le Clos Réaud in the beautiful town of Blaye run by Stephan and Christine. From the moment we arrived, Stéphane and Christine welcomed us with such warmth and genuine hospitality that we immediately felt less like guests and more like family. Their heartfelt commitment to creating a memorable experience shines through in every detail. The room was elegant, comfortable, and full of character. The property itself is stunning—peaceful, beautifully maintained, and filled with the charm and authenticity of the French countryside. The breakfasts were exceptional, thoughtfully prepared, and a perfect way to start each day, the coffee, croissants, great selection of cheeses and eggs! As we celebrated our anniversary, my husband Carlos and I felt transported into a different rhythm of life—one that was slower, more intentional, and filled with simple joys. There was something truly magical about the atmosphere that encouraged us to pause, savor the moment, and reconnect with what matters most. You need to ry the leg massage, highly recommended. If you are looking for an authentic French experience beyond Bordeaux, Le Clos Réaud is a destination in itself. Thank you, Stéphane and Christine, for creating such a memorable stay. One small area for improvement would be the pool area. During our stay, some used towels had been left behind by previous guests. A designated basket or hamper for used pool towels could help keep the area tidy and make it easier for guests to know where to place them. Additionally, removing the pool-cleaning equipment when it is not in use would further enhance the tranquil and beautiful atmosphere of the space. That said, this was a very minor detail in what was otherwise an exceptional experience, and it did not detract from our overall enjoyment of this wonderful property.
