Cozy and comfortable wooded cabin

The Cozy Cabin was exactly that. Beautiful surroundings and easy to locate. My family and I had plans to ski at Soda Springs for the weekend, which was a short 30 minutes to the hill, which worked out perfectly. Out of the hustle and bustle of traffic and a quiet retreat. Easy in easy out. Thank you, Scott and Dena!

Awesome place

This cabin was absolutely amazing! It was extremely clean, very well stocked in the kitchen, and had all the streaming services on the TV the kids could ask for! The view in the morning looking out into the forest was stunning. The cats that greeted us upon arrival made us feel like we were at home. I would highly recommend this place and would love to stay again.

Host was very communicative. It was very clean and well stocked with paper towels, spices, etc. close to skiing. I would definitely stay here again!

The hosts were very accommodating and quick to respond to any needs we had.

Wonderful spot - worked perfectly for a family ski trip, a quick 30 minute drive up to Royal Gorge and Sugar Bowl. The cabin was spotless when we arrived, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen is very well equipped. Our hosts were kind and accommodating and we loved staying in the quiet forest at the end of the road. We'll be back!

We enjoyed a sweet family Christmas in the cozy cabin just below the snow line.

Needed a little getaway. The family and I were able to spend three nights at the cabin to relax and unwind. Enjoyed the surroundings, friendly cat, dog and sweet property owners. We enjoyed walking around and playing outside. We will be back to have some tranquility again.

This was the perfect “cabin in the woods getaway” for our family of five. We were looking for a place to reconnect with our daughters before the beginning of school/college. The place is amazing - even better than the pictures. Our hosts were great and so responsive. It’s about a 10 minute drive from I 80, but it feels a world away. So serene you will not want to leave. Our stay was exactly what we were looking for. The property was as expected: clean, comfortable, and very cozy. The hosts were lovely and very welcoming and the location is perfect. We all really enjoyed our visit and would gladly return for another trip.

This cabin and host was remarkable. We originally had plans to site see in Lake Tahoe, and other places but found ourselves repeatedly going back to the cabin to just hang and play games. Had a campfire, played ball with the dog, and hung out with cat. Great time. Scott accommodated everything we requested lickety split. The cabin layout was awesome. Will stay again.

Everything about this property is HEAVEN! It’s super close to the freeway yet nestled in the Forrest of big beautiful trees. Checkin was a breeze, we met Scott, his wife, their dog and the famous Apricot, kitty. We love all of them!!! The cabin and surroundings are beyond beautiful! The pictures don’t do it justice. You have to see it yourself. We will definitely be back and strongly recommend it to you too. We made family memories that will last a lifetime and recharged our souls. Highly highly recommend!!!!

Beautiful and peaceful location. Cabin very well designed and constructed with great view of the forest. Cabin well stocked and lots of special touches to make it feel like home. A wonderful anniversary getaway for us.

We were excited to get away for a winter vacation but didn’t expect it to be so fantastic! The best perks were the owner’s cat and dog, such lovely creatures that we spent a good amount of time with. We were delighted with the property itself-the area was gorgeous and peaceful, the location was close to ski resorts, the size was just right for our family, and the owners were terrific and hospitable. Thank you for letting us enjoy your cozy and beautiful cabin! We will consider coming back in the summer!

Had a great time at the cozy cabin in the woods. Short drive up to the slopes and the cabin had everything we needed (and more). Appreciate how responsive the owners were when we had a question for them.

We had such a wonderful stay here in a snowstorm! Scott and Dena were amazing hosts from helping us anticipate road conditions getting there on a stormy weekend to all of the small touches that made staying there with kids easy and fun! Our kids loved the toys, we loved the fully stocked kitchen and cooking together, the orientation of the cabin out to the woods is just beautiful. We look forward to another visit!

Our family had a wonderful time making memories at this property. The owners were delightful and so fast in responding to our questions and providing useful information we didn't think to ask. The cabin was very clean and fully stocked with all you need including toiletries and kitchen cookware. The owners were so kind to help us start a fire for roasting marshmallows and we enjoyed getting to know them and learning more about the cabin. My boys fell in love with the owner's dog and spent a lot of time playing fetch. They also loved seeing the cat and chickens. There are plenty of toys in the cabin that also kept them entertained. We highly recommend this property and hope to return in the future. It was truly a wonderful place to get away with our family.

This is a great place. My family enjoyed staying 3 nights here. This cabin has everything like someone is living. Easy access to the ski resort and snow parks. Definitely going back when we go the area again!

The cozy cabin was amazing. Quiet and relaxing. Our kids loved exploring the area around the cabin and playing the snow. The dog was so friendly and fun playing fetch with.

Cabin was exactly as described. Scott met us as we drove up. The cabin was warm and cozy and was perfect after a busy Thanksgiving Family Event! It was SO quiet:). We visited Little Bear Tree farm and Nevada City one day. The next day we drove to Empire Mine State Park and toured Grass Valley. Everyone everywhere was welcoming❤️Thank you owners for sharing your most perfect spot! Merry Christmas!

From the moment we arrived, everything was just as was described and portrayed on the website. The cabin was spic and span, fully equipped, plenty of privacy, fire pit, BBQ. The owners were exceptionally welcoming and kind. Scott helped set up the fire pit and made sure that the BBQ was ready to go Even though we brought games and activities, there were many more in the cabin which delighted the children. They were happy to sleep in their sleeping bags but the fold out sofa bed was stocked with linens, blankets, and pillows. There were plenty of spices and condiments which made cooking a snap. The cabin itself is a work of art!! Hand built by the owner with lots of attention to detail. The large windows in the main area look out into the forest as well as the wrap around deck. We were advised about the bears and we made sure that no food was left outside. The vegetable garden was spectacular and we were fortunate enough to receive fresh produce - compliments of the owners. The fresh eggs from their chickens was another highlight. There's nothing like a farm fresh egg. All in all, we had a super time. I would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to get away and relax. There are plenty of outdoor activities nearby as well - hiking, lakes, community pool. Nevada City and Grass Valley are within a 45 minute drive.

Cute cabin with welcoming host. We enjoyed the cabin as a launch point to Lake Tahoe and surrounding area. The guys loved the train watching opportunities while the girls loved visits with the owners cat, dog and chickens. Thank you for your hospitality!

It was the most amazing experience. The cabin was beautiful and the hosts were gracious and helpful. You don't have to bring anything but your clothes and food that you prefer. Everything you might need is there for you. The birds were there to greet us every morning and the squirrels waited their turn.

We visited this place from Bay Area for long weekend and were surprisingly blown away by the cabin - right from it's well laid design, to cleanliness, to thoughtfulness of the host and many more. Totally enjoyed our stay here and definitely will be visiting this place again.
