Lagarto Na Banana Hostel

This hostel defines what a hostel should be for backpackers: social, fun, amazing value, great breakfast and free activities like yoga. The dinners and brownies were also excellent. The volunteers are like family. Drink prices are fair and they are not trying to make money from you, it’s focussed on making sure you have a nice time which we did!! For me, this has been the best hostel I’ve stayed at in Brazil !!

Some constructive feedback Better lighting in private rooms and extra power point.

Looooovely staff. It’s a very social place, with shared dinners every night, great breakfast, many activities. Overall a nice place.

The outside area could be set up a bit nicer with a couple more spots that invite to really relax.

One of the places you read the comment and think « it’s too good to be true » well it’s not ♥️ the love and community you find there are something else - it will feel like a home in a matter of days thanks to the amazing team of volunteers, activities and yoga everyday to bond with other travelers, daily veggie dinner.. it has it all and I ended up staying for a month! Mind that it’s a bit far from the center but the vibe of the place it’s 200% worth it (also you can jump in the pool when you arrive hehe)

I didn't like a lot. Very scenic, yes, located basically between trees, in the forest. But people and everything very hippy-alternative. Breakfast is free, but very late (starting at 9am; very hard if you want to enjoy the day). The beds were very good and it was cool at night and during the day, at cost of a lot of mosquitos. The co-wrking space is very simple, barely good to really work. Dinner expensive. Not very centric, kind of remote with very bad street (15min walk from center). Kind of bad to walk when it rains.
