Katoikia Spathi

Dimitris was an excellent attentive host, he meet use at the port and drove us to the house. The house itself is brand new, nicely decorated and very clean. It has an amazing view to Spathi beach and a great terrace to watch the sunrise in the morning and the stars at night. Spathi beach is one of the best beaches in Kea and just 2km away. There is a great taverna about 15 minutes away from the house and Dimitris left some delicious fruits for us. If you are looking for a place to relax and disconnect this is Katoikia Spathi is the place.

The only difficulty is the road to get to the house which is a dirt road but so are many roads in the island.

Everything went really great, nice and modern place with an awesome view to the beach and other islands. Like you can see on the photos.

Something to be aware of, the road to the house is not great (not the owners fault of course) but something worth mentioning. It's only 2km where you need to drive very carefully.

Our stay at Katoikia Spathi was one of the most memorable. The view is breath taking and villa is very nice, built in stone as per local customs. Roads are a bit rough, especially the last part which is unpaved and very steep, but the place itself is worth the effort. Our host, Dimitris, was very kind; he drove us there, instructed us on practical things and checked regularly on our welfare. Kea is a beautiful island full of pristine beaches and nice people.

We had a fabulous time at Villa Spathi. The house was beautiful: spacious (perfect for a family of 4 or 2 couples), new, clean, and very nicely decorated. All the details in the house were impressive. You can tell that Dimitris, the owner, has good design taste. We had the chance to meet him (he stayed upstairs) and he greeted us with a bottle of wine, ice cream, and melon! He also gave us excellent recommendations for beaches and dinners. In the house you will find a series of hand-drawn maps and useful information for the island. The house is about a 5-minute drive from Spathi beach which was the nicest beach we visited in Tzia but the road to it is unpaved. Also, the road (about 2 km) leading to the house is unpaved. You may not want to be going back and forth just to buy water or other supplies, so stock up! Last but not least, the host was incredible in accommodating a last minute change of plans for which we would like to thank him a lot.
