Lances Beach Penthouses

Beautiful apartment in a great beach front location. The view to Africa is magnificent and the sun set. All domestic appliances are quite new and in perfect condition. Maybe the best part is that there is air conditioning in the living room and in both bedrooms! This seems not to be a norm in Tarifa. Way to go Iker! The apartment was really clean, spotless. Wifi was good and our child used smart TV. We especially enjoyed the balcony. What a view to have a breakfast. The nice beach is just in front of the building. We spent a lot of time there although there is a pool too. There is a small group of restaurants on the other end of the building for example for lunch. It is about 15 min walk to the old town where is a lot of restaurants and bars. For meat eaters I recommend Vaca Loca in the old town. Golosa ice cream bar has delicious caramelized date ice cream near the harbor. You have to try it! Near the apartment is a really good gluten free bakery Ecobakery Gluten Free. A big recommendation! Elena took good care of us during our stay and always answered promptly to questions. There is a parking garage underground but it is really tight. Especially getting out from there is a bit of a challenge. Only for small cars. We had a Skoda Kamiq and I barely got out from there. There are free parking places in front of the building though. We stayed for a second time here and would still come again.

The elevator was out of order during our stay so carrying the luggage to the top floor was a little bit sweaty. Otherwise it did not bother us.

Nice view of the beach and sea, a rooftop patio and bordering the boardwalk and beach. End unit so had 3 extra windows on the side for extra light and view. Has a safe, ventilation in the bathroom and lights in the closet that come on when you slide the door. Property management was great. ‘Maybet’ uses WhatsApp and met us at the front gate within 10 minutes of texting. When we had ants and needed extra garbage bags she left us some ant jell. When we told her the Toaster was broken she left a new one in a bag on the door handle.

Old wooden countertops in bathroom and kitchen are wood so they stay damp with mold and need replacing. Towels smelt mouldy or musty. Toaster malfunctioned and blew all the fuses. Didn’t leave any food out but we had small sand ants in the kitchen. Shower is old, dirty and in need of replacement. Couldn’t use it for half the first day as water had leaked onto the floor as it had just been re caulked. Leaked 2 days later and they said they would fix it after we left. 3 storey building of 66 apartments is old and dirty with rusty window grills. Looks great from the beach but not so good from the street. Apt was expensive to rent considering the condition of the building and all the issues. Owner did offer us a €50 refund if we gave a good review but that is not fair to future renters.
