Blissful place

In a complex of old fisherman houses/apartments facing directly on the lake. Sounds of the lake at night. Wonderful terrace to share meals overlooking the pebble beach. Bliss. Thank you so much to the owner for the welcome and the opportunity to stay here in this magical part of the world.

Actually everything was pretty good and the location IS amazing. Just a small note to say that though the little pebble beach is directly in front of where we stayed, it isn't a "private" beach as some other reviews suggest. It's s a bit more "hidden" but can be described as semi-private, or semi- public- without public facilities or cleaning - local residents care for it, we found ourselves also cleaning up after strangers left, picking up garbage. It isn't nice at all if people with dogs use the beach, as it's so small and is used intensively by other people - residents and beach goers escaping the heat- we saw two dog owners use it as a toilet place for dogs and others that we didn't see left their poo behind without cleaning it up right where people lie and swim. We hope in the future that the beach can be protected in some way from this kind of use by dog owners. We were there on some very hot days - especially on the weekend Friday to Sunday, it became quite busy on the lake, including on the little beach in front of the apartment. In general it was peaceful, especially relative to other beaches on the lake. Weekdays were calm and quite.

Magical, breathtaking and relaxing.

Communication was excellent, we were met at the station which was a brief walk to the apartment. The location was absolutely stunning. We didn't have a car but were able to get on a train to get around and did lots of exploring around the lake and also went to Switzerland from local Varenna (to Menaggio by ferry then bus to Lugano). Highly recommended - facilities were excellent and worth every penny for the view and the small, very quiet beach on the doorstep.

Nothing to do with the apartment, but locals used the beach for dog walking and didn't clean up after themselves which was pretty inconsiderate on a beach.

Tolle Seelage mit romantischer überdachter Terrasse.

Die Wohnung liegt zusammen mit anderen Nachbarwohungen in einem Rustico-Haus, das mehrere Hundert Jahre alt ist und über einen eigenen kleinen Kiesstrand verfügt. Sehr ruhig. Das Bett war sehr bequem. Besonders schön fanden wir die überdachte Terrasse mit Seeblick zum Essen und Relaxen. Auch der kleine Balkon von der Küche mit Seeblick ist sehr schön. Auf der Terrasse gibt es auch Klappstühle für den Strand. Die Renovierung der Wohnung liegt vermutlch schon Jahrzehnte zurück und ist nicht auf dem neuesten Stand, dennoch ist alles in gutem Zustand, gepflegt und sauber.

Leider gibt es keinen nahen Parkplätze. Zum Ein- und Ausladen kann man mit dem Vermieter an der Strasse einen Parkplatz vereinbaren. Es gibt ca. 300 m entfernt am Bahnhof eine Parkzone, für die man am besten ein Wochenabo für die Parkapp löst. Die Schlaf-Couch in der Küche könnte bequemer zum Sitzen sein (sehr harte Lehne).

Charmante Wohnung mit herrlicher Lage am See

Das Haus ist charmant und liegt direkt am See. Der Zugang zum Wasser ist gut und es eignet sich zum Schwimmen, SUP, etc. Die Lage ist ruhig. Im Dorf gibt es alles für den täglichen Gebrauch, Restaurants und einen Schiffssteg. Alles ist gut zu Fuss erreichbar. Die Wohnung war sauber und mit dem nötigsten ausgestattet.

Der Balkon ist sehr klein, die Mahlzeiten müssen drinnen eingenommen werden. Ein kleiner Klapptisch wäre praktisch gewesen. Das Auto muss oben beim Bahnhof parkiert werden, ist aber gut machbar und in 4-5 Minuten zu erreichen.
