The location was astoundingly nice in the small French Village of Albe Pierre west of Murat , full of beautiful old stone buildings in the heart of the Massif Central , mountains in central France that look very much like the Appalachian Mountains in the eastern US only dotted with villages full of stone houses and buildings.. The grassy back terrace behind the second floor of the inn is shaded by trees and overlooked by the ancient stone tower of the stone village church and in front of the church is a moving, simple memorial about World War I . The interior of the dining and public areas downstairs was charming . The continental breakfast was simple but fine, and the dinner the night before was simple but very good French food well prepared. In the style of inns from my childhood , we sat at the same table for dinner and breakfast. My wife , Michelle, said the whole facility was the cleanest inn or hotel where she has ever stayed ( and she is a much better judge than I ). The hosts spoke excellent English- not something that we were looking for - but others might like to know.
We liked it all.

Ce n'est pas un hôtel 3 étoiles: escaliers très étroits, rideau de penderie trainant de 20 cm parterre, absence de télévision;
Petit déjeuner avec uniquement viennoiseries ; si souhait d'aliments salés, il faut payer 4 € de plus pour une petite tranche de jambon blanc, pas de cru fumé local , et 2 petits morceaux de fromage;
Chambre non conforme à un 3 étoiles, pas de TV; repas ; repas sans produits locaux et insuffisants;
