Forest Cyniciam Homestay

Really lovely place to stay where the family are so warm and welcoming. It's very special to get to stay with a local family in Ohiya, and you're nice and close to Horton Plains National Park, which is perfect for a sunrise hike. The meals were absolutely delicious, and the accommodation is clean, quite, and peaceful.

The family hosting was lovely, and went out of their way to make us comfortable. Even to the extent of serving us tea and snacks at 5 AM before we left for the Horton Plains. The room was comfortable and quite cosy, and location excellent to reach Horton Plains early in the morning before the crowds.

We had a pleasant experience, no real downsides for a 1-2 night stay. Beyond that timeframe, it might get a little boring given the remote location.

We loved everything about this place. It is a true homestay experience and the family running the place is absolutely lovely 🥰 Food is authentic and outstandingly delicious If we ever get the chance we will certainly be back

Staying at Forest Cynicism Homestay felt like being welcomed into a family home rather than checking into accommodation. The food was outstanding: homemade, generous, and full of flavour. The setting is perfectly quiet, surrounded by mist and tea hills, with an atmosphere of complete calm. Perfectly located for the Horton Plains trek, our host even prepared packed breakfasts for us to take on the early morning hike, an incredibly thoughtful touch we didn't expect.
