Mountainside Swiss Haven

This place was an incredible, impromptu find. I booked here to go to Zermatt and hike Matterhorn but enjoyed the local area so much I didn't bother leaving! There are so many hikes to do without even getting in the car, which was perfect for me and my dog. The host upgraded our apartment with it being a quiet time and was exceptionally friendly, and welcoming. Very safe area, so often walked the dog late past 10pm. Apartment itself was Swiss traditional (aka beautiful) with a stunning view from the balcony. Also appreciated the pots and pans being new.

Great Stay For Swiss Alps

The property is in SaaS-Grund which is an excellent wooden villa. The views from the villa were snow capped Swiss Alps. The journey to the property is connected from the Visp Train station via a 30 min uphill bus drive on route 511 until the stop Tamatten, from where it is a 3 min walk. The host was very considerate and supportive. He also suggested our stay plan over the next days based on our places of interest. The property is spacious with nice kitchen and other facilities. All windows and balconies have great views. There is no lift to second floor but was quite manageable for us. We stayed for a night and then moved to Bern to cover the other attractions.

The property is excellent with serene atmosphere all around. It is advisable to stay if one wishes to cover the breath taking views of the great Swiss Alps around this place. The proximity to places like Interlaken, Saanen, Lake Genewa, Engelberg, etc is a bit far. So, plan accordingly.

All was superb. The apartment was first class. Actually we were upgraded and had a bigger one with no extra cost. It was warm, dray, spacious, superbly equipped with fast WiFi. The location was perfect - about 1 min to the bus going to Sass-Fee and about 10 min walking distance to the local Coop supermarket. The host seems to be a growing legend with all the reviewers for his friendliness and helpfulness. We well definitely book one of his apartments when we are back in Sass-Grund, Thank you Edgar!

Lovely apartment surrounded by the beauty of Saas-Grund

We liked everything; the facilities in the apartment, the kindness of the host, the calm area where the apartment was. It exceeded our expectations ! Next year we will come back again! Thanks Edgar! @Skiers: The bus stop towards Saas-Fee was 5 walk from the apartment.

One gets a free Saas-Fee pass, which allows you to use all buses and cable cars (except Metro Alpine) for free. The host was very helpful and even presented us a bottle of wine.

Lovely house with lovely location

The house is so clean and comfortable and warm especially when its freezing -8c outside. I love the location. Just a few minutes walking the distance to the bus stop and 10 minutes walk to cable car station. Surrounding area is beautiful. The staff is very helpful. Would definitely definitely recommend this place to others. My favourite stay in Switzerland and would definitely come again

Zweckmässig ok, aber kein zweites Mal

Wohnung war gut gross und alles was man benötigt war vorhanden.

Es war viel zu kalt in der Wohnung. Trotz Heizung wurde es nicht wärmer als 17 grad in der Wohnung, auf Nachfrage wurde gemeint, dass es nicht höher zu heizen ginge. Das waren froh, dass das Wetter gut war um nicht einen Tag in der Wohnung verbringen zu müssen, da wären wir trotz warmer Unterwäsche etc. erfroren. Die Handtücher waren vollkommen alt und wahrscheinlich ausrangiert oder sollten das auch werden. Die Bettwäsche war teilweise kaputt( Reissverschluss defekt, sodass die Kissen rasuquollwn. Können die sehr vielen positiven Bewertungen nicht ganz nachvollziehen.

Schöner Urlaub, netter Gastgeber

Sehr gute Lage als Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen, sehr naturnah und ruhig. Sehr netter Gastgeber,es fehlte uns an nichts. Wir haben sogar eine größere Wohnung bekommen als ursprünglicher gebucht. Wir waren außerhalb der Saison dort,daher war es sehr ruhig. Wunderschöne Umgebug. Sehr zu empfehlen!
