El Bodegon de Luis

Great place just off the path of the Camino. Clean and comfy.

This is a very nice Twin Room, above the ground floor bar, frequented by locals. Good food is available downstairs. Our room (#5) was quite comfortable and included a narrow, enclosed terrace, but no refrigerator. Ample parking provided. There is an outdoor terrace with tables. The property is within easy driving reach of Santander, Altamira, and Bay of Biscay beaches through pleasant countryside. We stayed a second night to allow exploring the area. Price was very reasonable, 36€/night for 2, Thu/Fri, late April.

The reduced rating is mostly due to the complete failure of wifi internet in our room. The friendly bar staff was of no help solving this problem and did not ask anyone higher up. We could only get online in the bar, during its open hours. This could not be just a one time issue. The two rooms with enclosed balconies (4, 5) have no ventilation except the operable windows. Since they are right above a busy street, you have a choice of fresh air or muffled traffic noise, but not both, except late at night.

Have stayed here numerous times, would highly recommend.
