The Old Calf Shed is situated in the centre of our 200 acre dairy and sheep farm with stunning views over the Wharfe Valley and within a short drive of Harrogate. Leeds and the Yorkshire dales. The cottage has 5 steps to enter then is all on level with well equipped kitchen & super king and King sized beds. Enjoy the homemade cakes and Nespresso coffee on welcome and relax in the bubbling hot tub.

Fabulous cottage and just what we needed. Having 2 dogs the enclosed garden was great and we could sit and admire the views whilst they sniffed around. The living area was very well equipped and cosy. Fabulously quiet - we hardly heard the cows. The large bedrooms and modern en-suites were lovely. Parking was no problem. We didn't use the hot tub. It feels like you are in the middle of nowhere but only 20 minutes into Harrogate and you have all the facilities. Definitely on the list for a return visit.

My partner and I booked in for a 3 night break in the old calf shed. Wow what a place. Fantastic views of the valley (i would suggest binoculars to watch the birds of prey) while you sit in the hot tub. Everything needed for a self catering break is in the kitchen. We had asked for the afternoon tea which didn't fail to impress either. Those cakes were to die for. Julie is such a lovely host, she took us for a walk around the farm talking to us all the time explaining how everything worked and looking at the calfs. We had a fantastic break and will definitely book again.

Lovely few days at this farm cottage hosted by Julie. The cottage is very well equipped and the beds were the most comfortable we’ve had at any cottage! The location is beautiful with fantastic views across open countryside and the hot tub fab to come home to. Julie also gave us a tour of the cow and nursery sheds which was interesting and eye opening. Would defo Italy recommend.

In the middle of nowhere, but not far from shops, restaurants etc. Lovely views. Sounds of farm animals. Dogs had an enclosed garden. Hot tub is an added bonus. Will definitely recommend

Well it was just nice… I personally had issues and would only give it a 3 star rating. Don’t quite understand how everyone gave it 5*… that is really misleading and unfair for the next family. Yes the place was lovely but you don’t have everything you need. Baring in mind you have to travel and need your own items, the bare essentials was not available but you may be able to obtain them if you ask. I personally didn’t want to constantly ask and felt like I was being bothersome. The wifi was very poor, connection in one room only! 4 coffee capsules only, maybe details of the coffee machine should be mentioned, so one can bring some from home, if they are not going to be topped up daily. The cake selection in the dome, as a welcome hamper was dry and stale, The kids games were all over the place… no not one card game or a full family game, baring in my mind no wifi so what is one to do? Not one non-stick pan😑, No foil no cling film, No dish scrubber, The tv wasn’t compatible to use with wifi or Netflix. No salt or pepper, had to ask Coffee was old and stale so I bought my own after the 4 pods finished. The one jug of milk was welcoming. No baking facilities So it was back to basic dvds for the 3 nights. The town was lovely the view was lovely but everything to do in Otley was closed by this time of year or weekend openings only. Then to top it off the heating stopped working after the first night of our 3 night stay and had to use electric heating.

Absolutely wonderful. The calf shed had all the required amenities. Very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. Fabulous peaceful location with amazing views. We made the best of the hot tub which was a bonus. The lovely cakes left on our arrival were a nice touch too!! Would highly recommend

Myself and two friends stayed here for a weekend. What a little gem this place is!! Utterly amazing views, beautiful cottage and the hosting farm dogs were our best friends by the end of our stay! We will definately be returning! Ps the hot tub was fab!

This was our 2nd visit and we had started to wonder if maybe we’d just got caught up in holiday fever and rebooked in haste but as soon as we drove up the hill we remembered the magic! Julie is a fabulous host, nothing is too much trouble and the addition of an EV car charger was a super bonus. She has also added shower trays after I had mentioned them last time and there is now a little notebook for guests to comment if there are any suggestions for additions. The weather was glorious and the hot tub and view are the icing on the cake. We have already booked for next year!

We had a wonderful 2 night stay, Julie was an amazing host and answered all my questions about the working dairy farm. Julie let us work around the farm and see the cows and the calves. Such a beautiful setting and so peaceful. We can’t wait to return.

Lovely place to stay, bet its gorgeous in summer. Julie is lovely and helpful without being intrusive. Nice touch with cakes on arrival. Nice location and the beds are sooo comfy. Huge garden for the dogs to run around too. Kitchen is well equipped and modern bathrooms with walk in showers. We didn't use the hot tub with having a baby with us and the dogs would have wanted to get in lol. Highly recommend and the Sunday lunch at the Queens head was gorgeous and dog friendly too.

A lovely property with beautiful views of sun rise and sunset. The hot tub was amazing, even on a cold January (-3) evening. Warm welcome by Julie, easily contactable but left on our own. Bed was comfy, kitchen ideal and essentials available including the creamiest milk, eggs and cakes already in the cottage for us. Dishwasher, washing machine available for longer stays and both bedrooms had en-suites which seemed new. A nice drive away from Otley and Harrogate, out of the way enough for privacy and peace but local enough to shops etc. Will definitely book again.

We stayed in the cow shed and the cottage was excellent, everything you needed was provided, including milk from the cows on the farm and cakes! Dressing gowns for when using the hot tub and towels. The views from the hot tub were amazing. We were able to watch the fireworks in the distance. We have already decided to be returning! Definitely will recommend.

Lovely cottage, perfect for R&R and walks out into the country, yet close enough to Otley and Harrogate - just a short drive away. Lovely break away, nice and peaceful with beautiful views. Check in process was sketchy as was waiting for an hour and 20 mins before we got seen, unsure if we could just go into the property. Just sat in the car waiting. Property was lovely and clean, everything at hand if we needed it, hot tub was perfect for the views. The baby calfs outside the property were adorable, just wish we could of seen more of the farm, would of made it so perfect! Only issue we had aswell as the check in, was no cold water running at night, so unable to flush toilets or fill up my dogs water bowl. Other than that absolutely perfect. Thank you

We were greeted on arrival by Julie and 2 of the farm dogs and welcomed into the cottage with cake and fresh milk. Throughout the stay Julie was on hand and we had some great conversations but she didn't intrude. All basics were supplied including a cute selection of toilettries. The kitchen was really well equipped and there was a selection of games which were needed as we had some unexpected Yorkshire snow. The view from the cottage is awesome and sitting in the hot tub listening to the owls made it even better. We loved it here and have already booked for next year. The wifi signal isn't great and the tele is small BUT we didn't need either as sometimes you just have to lift your head and look at what is around you!
