We loved everything about this venue. The cottage was solid for a log cabin with all the amenities one requires. We had everything we needed. The kitchen was beautiful to cook in, the bedrooms were comfy, with beautiful bedding and linen and fitted with air con units, the bathrooms were well laid out, the water pressure was fine (not super strong but good enough to wash long, thick hair). The entertainment setup in the living room was just enough for a relaxing weekend away and the braai outside was beautiful. The lawn outside was well maintained with no thorns - the area as a whole has had a bit of a rain shortage so things were a bit drier than usual I'm sure but the care for property is very evident.
The communication and directions received from the landlord were very clear and it was great to receive the manager's mobile number in case of emergency.
The river was easily accessible and, even though it was low, was highly enjoyable for the kids. They found Franklins, dassies, tadpoles and frogs and enjoyed exploring up the river bed and finding all the bugs and creatures that they could find.
The cottage was super private with plenty of foliage around to screen the cottage next door away. The information booklet supplied of activities and places around was great - very informative and helpful for those who prefer a more active weekend.
The decor items around gave it a very cared for appeal for guest happiness and all in all it all just came together beautifully for us. One of the best log cabin type holidays we've had, if not the best.
There was nothing we didn't like but perhaps what could be improved upon slightly (although it wouldn't deter us from returning in the least)...
We feel there weren't enough firelighters for a 2 night stay.
The aircon units may need a bit of a service.
It would have been nice to have some hotel soaps for the bath and shower - handsoap is supplied but a miniature bar of soap is also a nice touch.
A fan could be supplied for the bunk room (luckily we'd brought our own) as this is the only room without aircon.
Other than that everything was perfect. Really we have no complaints.

The attention to detail. The fact that it had almost all the items you would need in a normal house and not just the necessities.
The host was also very accommodating with special requests. The fruit trees and process was educational for the children
At times when the river is very low it is not possible to swim or really splash in the water as the pools are Bit stagnant. A small splash pool would be great to help
cool off a bit as it was very hot.

Very close to the venues/attractions. Good value for money. I am sure we will stay here again.
I was only informed on the morning of our arrival that the bathroom is separate from the unit. There also wasn't a mirror in the room, which is quite a necessity for a woman getting ready to go to a wedding. My wife used the microwave door to do her hair, which was quite entertaining and did her make-up in the bakkie.
