Il Palazzo

The Il Palazzo was the perfect place to stay in the beautiful village of Scanno. Situated in the centre of the village , an historical building with modern conveniences for enjoying all the region has to offer. Sparkling clean room and bathroom, delicious breakfast provided by the kind and caring Loredana and Faye, was the perfect start to a day of hiking and exploring the many paths and views. My room over looked the rooftops of the village to the mountains, connecting me to the magic of this place. Scanno had everything I needed, nature, small village, great food local traditions, few tourists . The longer I stayed the happier I was. I came by bus and found it easy to walk/hike without a car, though of course more opportunities to explore if you had one . The mountains in June were a perfect 25 celsius , when I headed down to the lower areas they were suffering a 34+ heatwave. Up in the mountains of Abruzzo, in the village of Scanno was a memory made in heaven. Highly recommend.

Il Palazzo is set in an outstanding historic building that was once owned by a very wealthy family, and this is evident in every detail as you explore its interiors. The breakfast room is a beautifully preserved late 19th-century space, and just outside our room there was even a small altar, which adds to the unique character of the property. It truly feels like stepping back in time and experiencing a place that once served as a private family residence, now carefully preserved and full of history. The view from our room on the second floor was breathtaking, overlooking the old rooftops of Scanno; a truly memorable and unique experience. The room itself was spacious and very clean, and the amenities were excellent. Breakfast was very good, with good coffee and a pleasant selection of items. An additional advantage was the small private parking area. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Scanno in the future.

The place is very well located in beautiful surroundings, with a charming palazzo-like feel that makes it stand out. The host was very friendly and welcoming throughout the stay, and breakfast was also very good, with a nice quality and selection.
