Casa Emblemática La Pileta

The house has lots of character and an interesting history. Martin, the host, was friendly and keen that we enjoyed our stay. The bedroom on the bottom floor is very quiet and, given its location, the light entering through the window is dim. The bed was comfy. All of which meant that we slept very well there, unlike other accommodation on the island that was noisy and with brighter sunlight in the room.

There was nothing negative about our stay.

Amazing place in the middle of the city. Historical building, carefully renovated and maintained by a host that truly deserves that title. We loved the place and its vibe and where very sorry that we had to travel on.

The accommodation itself was fantastic. Outside, there was beautiful patio with variety of flowers and sitting area just in front of the door to the flat, same as at the terrace above. The inside interior was in old, rural style with mostly "antique" furniture. The property had all what you need for your stay including fully equipped kitchen, wash machine etc. The owner Martin was very friendly and helpful. He gave us useful information with tips what trips to make around area. You could visit lots of valleys with cactus flora and panorama views and cosy restaurants at nearly each place. We also have got from him the red wine bottle as a welcoming attention. Aguimes has some great restaurants with traditional Spanish cuisine. The festive act of 3 kings coming to town on the camels was as a random bonus for us what we experienced in Aguimes.

The mattress itself was firmed and very comfortable but construction of the bed in the bedroom was wobbly and squeaky.

The house was spacious and clean, I loved its style, the furniture and the little things that made it realy authentic. And the children got their room full of soft toys (with two huge tigers among other stuff), which was very much appreciated, since we didn't bring any toys along. There is also a lovely shady patio full of green plants, which we enjoyed a lot. And if you want to enjoy the sun and the daylight there is a big terrace on the upper floor. I should also mention that Agüimes is not overpopulated by tourists, the locals are friendly, but not pushy, in fact, it's an excellent spot to go either to the hills or to the beaches. The landlord was also very friendy and helpful in travel advices.
