The master was very friendly and welcoming. He took us to our room and explained clearly how to use the facilities and how to check out the next morning.
By the time we got to the restaurant for dinner, the master had left for the day. The (apparent) part-timer who replaced him was not as friendly and paid more attention to her phone than to the diners. Being in a traditional German bar, the restaurant was very noisy and the food was nothing special.

I was in town visiting some friends in Gelsenkirchen and wanted to stay somewhere close to the Düsseldorf downtown area (somewhere also close to the airport).
Upon check-in/arrival, the innkeeper (apologies, I didn’t catch his name!) was incredibly kind and showed me around the room and the amenities. The room was very clean and the bathroom was great as well.
The rooms are above a fantastic restaurant, and the food served was amazing. Would absolutely stay here again!
